You will see wild elephants and other animals at close range. Mount Kilimanjaro is very clear. An open savannahs park easy to locate animals. I would highly recommend a very early morning drive; this will ensure you get to see most of the wild animals. While in the park, always view the animals while inside your vehicle, only alight at designated spots, safety first! read more
Amboseli National Park 'packs' it all in one package--big game, bird watching and cultural safaris. Being a semi-arid region Amboseli is amazing because it has water bodies that sustain life all year round.

You truly cannot beat the views of Kilimanjaro from Amboseli National Park. Timing it so that Kili isn't shrouded in clouds is tricky, so if you are able to, it helps to have the option to pass through the park again on your way back from safari.

I was there 22 years ago and it is the same now (except more people).
We were on a private tour so we avoided much of those "jams".

Saw Kili from both sides--Tanzania and Kenya. It was, by far, the most dramatic from the Kenyan side. It's got an impressive amount of wildlife, too, which surprised me. Zebra, giraffe, elephants aplenty.
