Depending on the time of your arrival, you might be able to explore the area. There are many options in Entebbe that can be easily organized before your arrival in Uganda. For example a visit to the Botanical gardens or the Ugandan Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC). Please ask if you would like us to book any of these trips for you

Overnight: Karibu Guesthouse

Day 2: Kibale Forest

Today, you will undertake the journey to green Kibale Forest. The drive here is incredibly scenic, passing through tea plantations and the lush green countryside which characterizes so much of Uganda. On arrival at the forest, you will enter a completely different world… get ready for some serious monkey business!

Kibale forest national park lies just outside the colonial town of Fort Portal and is made up of dense tropical rainforest. This park is considered one of the big highlights of Uganda due to the vast number of primates living here including the habituated chimpanzee groups which are a very memorable experience.

Go chimpanzee trekking in the heart of the forest, bird watching in bigodi swamp and dance to the rythm of the african drum during your village community walk.

Where would you find a better spot to experience encounters with nature; smelling the forest and listening to the many sounds. Your safari tent or cottage is surrounded by lush green diversity filled with countless bird species and butterflies.

Over night: Isunga Lodge

Meal Plan: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 3: Kibale & Queen Elizabeth National Park

You have the freedom to choose your morning activity today. A visit to our closest relatives, the chimpanzees, is high on most people’s list.
The Chimpanzee Trekking experience here is done on several well maintained walking trails. There is also a wonderfully diverse concentration of other primates, more than any other forest in East Africa, in fact. Besides our delightful cousins, the chimpanzees, you can also visit the bigodi wetlands for a chance to see the  red colobus, red-tailed guenon, white-nosed monkey, gray-cheeked mangabey, blue monkey, L'Hoest's monkey, and the black and white colobus monkey.

Chimpanzee Tracking Permit: USD 150 per person

Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary: USD 25 per person

After your trek, return to the lodge to freshen up, have lunch and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will be spending the night. Check in on time for dinner and overnight.

Over night: Marafiki Safari Lodge

Meal Plan: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 4: Lion Tracking & Boat Safari on Kazinga Channel

Today you will be supporting the Uganda Canivore project that is responsible for the conservation of lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

On this unique lion tracking activity, you will join a team of researchers from the program as they head into the bush to monitor some of the lions in the park, using GPS tracking devices. The data collected will further the conservation program, while you get a unique and intimate insight into the lives and habits of these fascinating predators.

After lunch, you will take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel. Here, you will see a lot of hippos (more than you can possibly imagine), as well as a variety of other animals which come to the waterhole to drink or bathe. You can expect to see: Buffalo, Crocodile, bathing Elephant, and a range of beautiful birds. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your tour. After the boat-safari you game drive back to the lodge.

Over night: Marafiki Safari Lodge

Meal Plan: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 5: Community Walk

After an early morning breakfast, continue on to Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge. In the afternoon you will meet the communities who live in the outskirts of Bwindi Forest. This will give u a chance to have a taste of the Ugandan lifestyle. You will meet with locals of many different generations and see the way of life in this developing country. The highlights of this cultural include visit to traditional healers or medicine man. A visit to homes for a demonstration of a variety of food making skills such as how bananas are used for a children’s drink, to make beer not forgetting, the local gin. Get the chance to interact with the local community, they will show you how they incorporate every day activities into dance.

The guide who will lead this tour is full of life and passionate about the village. He and his family have lived in the area for decades. He draws on this background to provide a very personal walking tour during which he describes some of the characters he has encountered, some of which are famous, others not, the tour lasts about two hours.

Over night: Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge

Meal Plan: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 6: Free Day

Today you can choose to spend the day exploring the surrounding villages of Bwindi or you can go for the ultimate gorilla trekking experience!

Prepare yourself for an encounter with one of Bwindi’s gentle giants: the rare Mountain Gorilla. For most people this is the absolute highlight of their tour in Uganda.

Gorilla Tracking Permit: USD 600 per person

Participants can expect to walk long distances in steep and sometimes muddy conditions  with rain overhead, which can be tough and require a degree of fitness, however the thrill of coming face to face with a giant Mountain Gorilla silverback far more than makes up for the effort in their quest.

Granted the time taken can be quite unpredictable taking anything from 2 to 8 hrs or longer.

Upon sighting the gorillas, you will spend one hour with them as they go about their daily life; feeding, moving, playing, raising their young and sometimes wrestling by the juveniles – it is a totally unique and unforgettable experience!

Over night: Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge

Meal Plan: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 7: Lake Mburo National Park

Lake Mburo is a small national Park (on the route from Bwindi National Park back to Entebbe) but should certainly not be underestimated. This is the only place in southern Uganda to see zebras and the only park in the country with impalas, slender mongoose and giant bush rats. You can also look for hyenas, leopards, topis, elands and the beautiful Rothschild's giraffes, not to mention the lake itself which is teeming with hippos and crocodiles!

At night you can sit at the campfire while enjoying the beautiful starlit sky or hang around in the restaurant with an dining area overlooking an expanse of rock that borders the park. It does not get more ‘Africa’ than this..

Over night: Rwakobo Rock

Meal Plan: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 8: To Entebbe International Airport

Enriched with a lifetime of memories and experiences, you will say goodbye to the Pearl of Africa. Depending on the time of your flight, you will be transferred to Entebbe international airport in time for your flight back home in the evening. Please make sure your flight departure is after 8 pm at the very earliest.
