Day 1

When you and your family arrive in South Africa, Wild Planet Safari will be there to welcome you to the country. You will have some time to exchange some currency into Rand (South African currency) since this will be the best place to do so.
We will leave the airport and take you on a drive by tour of the city on route to your guest house in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg. You will have some time to refresh before we take you to a shopping centre where you can buy any camping gear or other items you may like to bring with on your safari. Should your flights not allow time for this we will be happy to do this for you provided you send us a list.
This evening we will take you to a local restaurant and we will take some time to discuss the tour and answer any questions you may have.

Tonight you will be staying at a guest house with en suite rooms. Each room can sleep 2.

Day 2

This morning after breakfast we will take you to explore the most popular attractions in Johannesburg. Our first stop will be Gold Reef City, this is a museum and amusement park with lots of different rides that will provide much entertainment and education for the whole family. We will have an own expense lunch at the park before we leave to visit the Cradle of Humankind.
The Cradle of Humankind is a world heritage site that showcases the evolution of man in Africa. Many early man fossils have been found in the area and the second oldest human skull on the planet was unearthed here. There is also an amazing cave full of crystals and other geological marvels.
We will return to the guest house in the late afternoon to freshen up before we go for an own expense dinner at a popular local restaurant.
It's a full day, this could mean that there may not be enough time to visit all of these attractions due to the family's speed, though your guide will advise you should this scenario arise.

Day 3

This morning we depart Johannesburg and head off to explore the east of South Africa. The driving distance today is 500km but we have fitted in many different stops to make the drive more comfortable for the children.

We will visit the Blyde River Canyon, the 3rd biggest canyon in the world, you will get to see many different view points along the canyon, including The Pinnacle, God's Window and The 3 Rondawel. This is one of the most spectacular scenic routes in the country and is named the Panorama Route. On route we will stop for a picnic lunch. At the end of the drive we will travel down the Drakensberg escarpment before we arrive in the town called Hazyview.

Hazyview is also known as the gateway to Kruger National Park and the area has many great activities for you to enjoy. We will be staying at a beautiful lodge situated in a forest lining the Sabie River. Tonight we will enjoy dinner whilst listening to the amazing sounds of the forest and the wild river.

We will follow the rivers and visit all the waterholes that are excellent places to find animals in search of water.

We will get to our next camp, Berg en Dal, in the south of Kruger, in the late afternoon. You can relax or walk the rhino trail around the camp perimeter. We will enjoy another great African meal for dinner.

Tonight you will be staying in bungalows perfectly hidden in the bush, the camp is surrounded by an electric fence to make sure you and your family are safe from any of the wild animals.

A Kruger ranger will take you out into the park in an open vehicle to give you an opportunity to get really close with the animals. When you arrive back at camp we will have lunch and then it is time for you to relax and enjoy the camp facilities. This will be a perfect time to walk the Rhino trail and learn about the vegetation found in the area and an afternoon swim will be a perfect way to finish the day.

We will be having an early dinner tonight as you will have the chance to go on a Kruger night drive. A Kruger ranger will take you out into the bush in an open safari vehicle during the evening. You will use spotlights to scan the bush to find any nocturnal animals in the area. This is an excellent opportunity to find predators such as lions and leopards on the move, if you are very lucky you may even find them on an hunt.

Your accommodation will be a family cottage for this night.

Day 7

After a morning drive we will return to camp, pack the vehicle and then leave Kruger National Park.

The park is home to the Big 5 (lion, leopard, buffalo, Rhino and elephant) and some rarer animals we may not have seen yet, like Nyala and Wild Dog. The animals in the park have become very accustomed to vehicles on safari and they allow you to get really close, giving opportunities for amazing photo's.

We will arrive at the park in the afternoon after a 450 km drive, and we will stop for lunch on route.
Our camp is high on top of the hill overlooking the park. The views from the lodge are breath-taking and you can spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the view. This evening we will have dinner at the lodge restaurant.

Tonight you will be staying in a cottage high on top of the hill.

We will continue to the coast, along the way we will stop for an own expense lunch. We will arrive at our beach cottage just after lunch time. We will be staying at a hotel/ beach cottage that is situated a few meters away from the beach. The beach is safe and watched over by life guards, there is also a tidal pool that provides a safe place to swim away from the currents. The Indian Ocean is warm all year round with summer temperatures reaching around 24'C and winter around 20'C. This afternoon you and your family can relax and enjoy the beaches.
