Arrival in Arusha
Welcome to Tanzania! You will be picked up from the airport by a Lion King representative and driven to your accommodation in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you will hopefully have time to relax and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime! Busy Arusha is an essential part of safari life here in northern Tanzania and most travellers pass through at some stage. Meals at own expense Drinks not included

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your Safari guide will pick you up after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park, about two and a half hours away. The park, named after the Tarangire River, is a key wildlife area in the dry season and is known for large elephant herds, baobab trees, and rich birdlife. You may also see giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, lions, and leopards. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing your game drive. Later, transfer to your lodge in Karatu for dinner &overnight stay.

After breakfast, drive into the cooler Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a stop to view the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Continue through the conservation area into the southern Serengeti. The Serengeti is famous for its vast plains and rich wildlife, and is best known for the Great Migration of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes moving in search of fresh grazing. Accommodation for the next 3 nights will depend on the migration location, mainly in the Central Serengeti or surrounding areas.

This entire day is set aside for game drives in the Serengeti. The Serengeti boasts an abundance of wildlife such as impalas, buffaloes, crocodiles, and hippos. In addition to the iconic landscapes, you have a good chance of encountering predators and you may see lions, cheetahs and leopards. Depending on the location of the Great Migration, you may venture away from the Central region to experience this natural wonder. It is a truly life-changing experience.

Another day set aside for game drives in the Serengeti. It is possible to have a more relaxed pace, and do early morning and late afternoon game drives, returning to your accommodation for lunch and some relaxation. Every day is different in the Serengeti and there is always plenty to explore.

Your final sunrise in the Serengeti! After breakfast, drive towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying wildlife sightings along the way. Ngorongoro Crater is a vast volcanic caldera with savannahs, woodlands, lakes, and swamps, formed millions of years ago. Descend into the crater for a game drive among wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 bird species, with a chance to see the endangered black rhino. After the safari, drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.

This morning, drive to Lake Manyara for your final safari experience. Though small, the park is rich in diversity, with the Great Rift Escarpment and a seasonal lake attracting thousands of birds, including flamingos and over 500 species. Explore forests and open areas, where you may see elephants, baboons, and tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park. After your game drive, you will be dropped off in Arusha or at Kilimanjaro/Arusha Airport, marking the end of your safari.
