Arrival in Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania! You will be picked up from the airport by a Kiliclimb Africa Safaris representative and driven to your accommodation in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you will hopefully have time to relax and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime! Busy Arusha is an essential part of safari life here in northern Tanzania and most travellers pass through at some stage.

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up and drive you to Tarangire National Park (about 2.5 hours). The park, famous for the Tarangire River, is home to large elephant herds, giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, lions, leopards, diverse birdlife, and ancient baobab trees. Enjoy a game drive and picnic lunch inside the park before continuing to your accommodation in Karatu.

After breakfast, drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a stop to enjoy views of the Ngorongoro Crater, before continuing to the Serengeti National Park. Renowned for its vast plains, abundant wildlife, and the annual Great Migration of wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes, the Serengeti offers exceptional game-viewing opportunities. Your accommodation for the next three nights will be located in the best area for wildlife viewing, depending on the season and migration movements.

This entire day is set aside for game drives in the Serengeti. The Serengeti boasts an abundance of wildlife such as impalas, buffalos, crocodiles, and hippos. Depending on the location of the Great Migration, you may venture away from the Central region to experience this natural wonder. It is a truly life-changing experience.

This is another day set aside for game drives in the Serengeti. It is possible to have a more relaxed pace, and do early morning and late afternoon game drives. You will be returning to your accommodation for lunch and some relaxation. Every day is different in the Serengeti and there is always plenty to explore.

After breakfast, depart the Serengeti and travel to the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. After an exciting afternoon on the crater floor, continue to your accommodation in Karatu.
