About me

I live in South Africa at the Mafigeni home ranch and Lodge, where I have had the privilege of raising my son Alec. A 3rd generation South African, I grew up in the Greater Kruger Park region, where my love for the African bush was nurtured by my father Westley, a keen naturalist and bush-lover and both he and I have in turn, passed on this enthusiasm to Alec.

After college, I worked in both administrative and financial departments, before choosing the safari life. I have passed on my passion to Alec, who shares my love and enthusiasm for the wildlife and outdoor safari adventures. Alec has been schooled and has had the most amazing experiences in the safari industry and is now a professional guide for Mafigeni too.

My safari travel style: Middle of the road—I tend to stay in the main camps and lodges. It suits my budget and my preference for creature comforts, such as electricity and hot water.
