About me
Backpacker, shoestring, mostly independent (though was able to live the high-life on a couple of Fam trips as a travel agent!).
Started about 10 years after most, at the age of 28 (month solo to Europe using Eurailpass & hostels)... and haven't stopped! Worked 7 contracts in Antarctica throughout the 90's (total 42 months-on-Ice), and hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu at 56.
Have been to Africa 6 times, mostly to Uganda and East Africa, but did get to Cape Town and took the train up to Pretoria. Africa is in my soul. Spent the last 1-1/2 yrs. in Uganda using my eco-tourism and marketing skills for various lodges and tour companies.
My safari travel style:
Back-to-basics—I prefer old school camping and can pitch a mean tent. I like being off the grid and am ready to sleep under the stars. I don’t mind helping set-up or cook dinner. I’m the original safari enthusiast!
