DAY 1: ARRIVAL & TRANSFER TO THE HOTEL

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be received by a member of our team & after a meet & greet, transfer to your hotel in Kampala.

Bordering the magnificent Lake Victoria, Uganda’s capital city - Kampala - sprawl out over a series of undulating hills and despite the development, this ‘Garden City’ is known for its tree-lined avenues. It provides an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding area. Visitors can look forward to learning about the country’s rich and colourful history at the Uganda Museum; enjoying a number of activities on Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake; and visiting the Namugongo Martyrs Shrines, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the nearby Mburo National Park to catch a glimpse of local wildlife including: hippo, zebra, gazelles, crocodiles, warthog, and variety of birdlife.

Day 2:      Nile Village Hotel & Spa, Jinja      

SIGHTSEEING TRIP TO JINJA

Journey Duration: 2-3 Hrs

After breakfast you will immediately start off your sightseeing trip to Jinja. Enjoy views of the industrial park as this route is composed of factories & plantations (tea & sugarcane). Take a stop at Sezibwa Falls (optional): A Buganda cultural heritage site located in Mukono district. According to a traditional legend, the two rivers “Sezibwa and Bwanda” were born by a woman on her way to Kavuma – Bukunja. Many traditional people conduct pilgrimages to this site as they believe it has supernatural powers. Get here & enjoy activities like; rock climbing, nature walks & sightseeing, birding, cultural encounters & storytelling.

After here proceed to:

Mabira Eco forest (optional): Covers an area of 300 sq.km, in Buikwe district, protected as a forest reserve since 1932. Participate in optional activities like: guided nature walks, birding, zip-lining, Ugandan Mangabey trekking, mountain biking & sightseeing.

Prior to your arrival in Jinja, catch a glimpse of manufacturing industries like the Nile Breweries & commercial plantations. Upon arrival check into your prearranged hotel & enjoy your lunch then spend the rest of today at leisure.

Jinja

Situated on the northern shores of Africa’s largest lake, in southern Uganda, Jinja is the second largest city in Uganda and is famous for being located at the source of the Nile. The rapids on the Nile make Jinja the white water rafting capital of East Africa. It is also known as the adventure capital of Uganda. While the main attraction is undoubtedly rafting down the Nile, there are also a variety of other adrenaline filled activities such as: quad biking, bungee jumping, kayaking, and mountain biking and horse riding. Other popular activities include: browsing the colourful Jinja market, viewing the faded grandeur of the crumbling colonial architecture lining the streets and joining a bicycle tour to soak up the spectacularly scenic surrounds.

Day 3:      Nile Village Hotel & Spa, Jinja      

 A FULL DAY OF ADVENTURE IN JINJA

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and go explore the fun activities in the adventure capital of Uganda, stating with:

A Boat cruise to the source of the Nile: Here is yet another opportunity to visit the source of the world’s longest river composed of scenic views & bird watching.

Then get to the historical monuments: Mahatma Ghandi monument: Unveiled by the prime minister of India in 1997, memory of the world’s apostle of peace, killed in 1948.

Speke monument: Commemorates John Hannington Speke, an early explorer who discovered the great river Nile in 1856.

Day 4:      Pakuba Safari Lodge, Murchison Falls National Park   

JINJA TO MURCHISON FALLS N.P VIA ZIWA RHINO

Journey Duration: 5 – 6 Hours

Depart Jinja very early for Murchison Falls National Park. Arrival is foreseen in the afternoon. Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary (Optional): Here is a chance to track the Rhinos in their natural habitat. Thereafter this fun activity, proceed to the park.

Upon entering the park, you will drive to the TOP OF THE FALLS, here you will spot a permanent rainbow right from the top as you feel the uproar of the waterfall.

The view is rewarding as it explains why Murchison Falls is famously known as one of the world’s strongest waterfalls. And soon after the splendid experience, you will report to your lodge, check in and enjoy your leisure or opt for an evening game drive.

Murchison Falls National Park

Stretching from the shores of Lake Albert, Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda's largest National Park. The Nile River flows through the middle of the park creating the impressive Murchison Falls which is the park’s major attraction. The landscape features dense rainforest, undulating savannah and a diversity of abundant wildlife. Visitors can enjoy prime game-viewing along the Buligi Circuit. The forests are home to numerous primates, including Chimpanzees, and near the river, buffalo, elephants and Rothschild-Giraffes can be seen. Other commonly spotted wildlife include: lions, antelope, waterbucks, hippos and crocodiles.

Overnight: Pakuba Safari Lodge    

Pakuba Safari Lodge is located in North West of Uganda on the Eastern Bank of the Albert Nile. The tastefully furnished rooms offer comfort, style and serenity. Here you can enjoy a variety of excursions and activities; from exhilarating Safari drives to boat trips along the River Nile, ending at the foot of Murchison Falls. For the more adventurous, one can trek up to the top of the falls and marvel at the views through the mist.

The lodge is located in the north west of Uganda overlooking one of nature's best kept secrets, the River Nile, on its journey from its source at Lake Victoria to join Lake Albert – here it is suddenly channeled into a gorge only six meters wide, and cascades 43 meters below. The earth literally trembles at Murchison Falls - one of the world's most powerful flows of natural water.

Paraa Safari Lodge offers a unique blend of comfort, relaxation and adventure. Each of the rooms is a haven of style and serenity, complete with balcony and private bathroom.

The safari décor of the lodge still reflects the bygone era of early explorers, enshrined with a modern touch. Day 5:      Pakuba Safari Lodge, Murchison Falls National Park   

GAME DRIVE & AFTERNOON LAUNCH CRUISE

After an early breakfast, go for a morning game drive through the delta circuit, reputably known for high concentrations of wildlife. This 4 – 5-hour game drive will reward you with stunning views of the savannah and other plant vegetation of the acacia and borassus palm trees propagated by elephants all the way from Congo.

Expect a wide variety of wildlife including;

Lions, hippos, waterbucks, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hyenas, oribi, Uganda Kobs, baboons and patas monkeys with many more.

You will also have a stop at the Nile Delta where you will view Hippos cooling off in the water, and have some photos around the banks.

Right after this wildlife experience, drive back to the lodge and enjoy your lunch.

Later in the afternoon you will have your launch cruise to the BOTTOM OF THE FALLS. In addition to taking you close to the base of the waterfall, the 3-hour launch trip follows a stretch of the Nile with a compelling African atmosphere. Game viewing is excellent where you will expect.

After your launch cruise, return to the lodge & stay at leisure for the remaining hours of the day.

Day 6:      Fort Motel, Uganda        

MURCHISON FALLS TO FORT PORTAL

Journey time: 4 - 5 Hrs

Early in the morning, after your breakfast, you will depart for Fort Portal with lunch stopover in Hoima. Upon arrival you will be at leisure as you relax in preparation for Queen Elizabeth National Park journey, or take a quick guided tour of Fort Portal town (optional)

Uganda

Uganda, or the ‘Pearl of Africa’, as it was famously dubbed by Winston Churchill, is characterised by relatively dry and flat savannah in the north, with verdant mountains in the West, and vast dense and remarkably lush forests in the central region. The nation is home to an astonishingly diverse range of African wildlife including the highly endangered mountain gorilla which can be found in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. A popular spot for wildlife watching is Queen Elizabeth National Park, which hosts four of the Big Five, a flock of flamboyant flamingos and the rare tree-climbing lions of Ishasha. Outdoor enthusiasts can get their adrenaline fix with plenty of white-water rafting, kayaking, hiking, quad biking and horse riding facilities on offer. Add to this some friendly locals, a burgeoning cultural scene, and a capital city full of lively bars, clubs and restaurants, and it is easy to see why Uganda has gained itself a reputation as 'Africa's friendliest country'.

 

Overnight: Fort Motel

Fort Motel offers boutique hotel accommodation in Fort Portal, Uganda’s gateway town to the Rwenzori Mountains which can be viewed from most rooms of our hotel. A good hotel for business clients and also for the leisure travellers, Fort Motel is perfectly located in the prime residential Fort Portal town area. The hotel has a bar and a restaurant overlooking the garden or swimming pool suitable for open-air dining.  Fort Motel’s 21 rooms (including the annexe) offer easy access to all the sites in town. All Kabarole area local attractions and activities can be easily done as a day trip from the hotel. The rooms are just as impressive as the communal areas. Tile floors/carpeted floor support comfortable warm beds and each room boasts a walk-in shower or bathtub with both warm and cold water.

Day 7:      Buffalo Safari Lodge, Southern Queen Elizabeth National Park

TRAVEL TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Journey time: 2 - 3 Hrs

Queen Elizabeth National Park is famous for diverse ecosystems which include sprawling Savannah, shady humid forests, sparkling lakes, wetlands and amazing craters. Ideal for big game, primate species to include Chimps and over 600 bird species. It has superb scenic views of Kazinga Channel, the Rwenzori Mountains and crater lakes which are home to a wide variety of birds.

After an early breakfast start off your journey to ‘’a medley of wonders’’. On arrival after a stopover at the equator, you will head to Katwe Community; discover the local salt mining activities at Lake Katwe and interact with the locals. After here, go for lunch at the lodge after checking in.

In the afternoon you will go for a Boat cruise; this is the main activity after lunch where you will spot a number of birds like; the African fish eagle, pelicans, flamingos, Hammerkop, egrets, the African fin foot, pied kingfishers, marabou storks, vultures, kites and many more, together with animals like hippos, buffalos, warthogs, crocodiles, waterbucks and more as most of them visit to water and cool off. This boat cruise is spiced up with stunning views of the Mweya peninsular and a local fishing village along the lake shores.

Visit Mweya Museum; after the boat cruise, with this visit you will learn more about the parks history, animals, physical features (crater lakes formation) together with the parks future prospects. You will later return to your lodge and enjoy sun downer leisure.

Southern Queen Elizabeth National Park

Surrounded by other wonderful parks in the western region of Uganda, the Queen Elizabeth National Park is known for its rich biodiversity, wildlife and history. In the southern part of the park, the remote Ishasha sector is home to tree-climbing lions that spend long lazy days dozing in the pretty fig trees.  The Uganda Kob, which they watch from the branches, grazes the plains. Around Lake Edward, enjoy fishing and game watching - make sure to look out for chimpanzees, elephants, crocodiles, and perennial and migratory bird species.

While on your game drive, expect to see;

Journey time: 45mins – 1hr

On this final day of your safari, enjoy a brief tour of Kampala city with visits to; the highlights of the city such as the Buganda palace, Uganda museum, Nakasero market, all the historical monuments, the largest craft village and temples. You will later be transferred to Entebbe International Airport to check in for your next home departure flight.
