About our safari vehicles
The standard game drive vehicle is a 4x4 safari-adapted Land Cruiser or similar off-road vehicle, purpose-built to handle rough terrain while giving passengers the best possible wildlife viewing experience.
Key Features:
Pop-up roof – The roof lifts up, allowing guests to stand and view or photograph animals with an unobstructed 360° view, while still providing shade and shelter when needed.
Open sides or large windows – Many vehicles have open sides (with roll-down canvas or plastic covers for rain/dust) rather than closed windows, so you're closer to the sounds, smells, and atmosphere of the bush.
Tiered/stadium seating – Rows are raised at the back so everyone gets a clear view over the row in front, not just the people at the front.
4x4 drivetrain with high clearance – Built to handle mud, sand, rocky terrain, and river crossings without getting stuck, since game drives often go off-road to follow animal movement.
Charging ports/USB outlets – Common in mid-range and luxury vehicles for charging cameras and phones during long drives.
Cooler box – For water, snacks, and sometimes sundowner drinks during evening drives.
Radio communication – Guides use two-way radios to communicate with other vehicles about wildlife sightings (like a leopard or lion kill) so groups can coordinate.
Seating capacity – Typically 6–9 passengers in mid-range shared vehicles; luxury safaris often use smaller vehicles (4–6 seats) or private vehicles for a more exclusive experience.
