My wife and I did 3 day safari with Kilisherpas Travel. It included the Tarangire National Park, a stay at the Octagon Lodge, and then the Ngorongoro Crater. It. Was. Amazing. Our guide, Erick, spoke excellent English and was able to find all the animals we possibly could have hoped for!!!! We even got to see a pack of lions feeding on a recently killed water buffalo while the hyenas waited at a distance for their turn. Rhinos, Giraffes, Zebra, Water Buffalo, Wildebeest, Wart Hogs, Lions, Hyenas, Jackels, Baboons, Monkeys, Elephants, Ostrich, Impala, Gazelle, Hippos Mongoose, Eagles, many colorful birds, and lots more i probably can't remember!
It was great! They use really nice land cruisers with pop up tops and extremely nice Swarovski binoculars! Lunch was nice and the lodge we stayed at was amazing with a cool little Irish bar with a fireplace we sat next to.
If you want a quick safari to see basically everything, the 3 day kilisherpas one is a must. We did it following a week on the mountain, and it was just the right amount of time. Im sure all the guides are good, but ask for Erick and know you'll 100% be in good hands! He had many friends he could talk to on the radio to alert him to where animals were spotted. It was the main reason we were some of the first to get to the lions after they'd killed the water buffalo, and also able to find two rhinos!

From start to finish, our experience climbing Kilimanjaro was nothing short of exceptional. We chose the Northern Route and absolutely loved it – the trail was quieter and more peaceful with beautiful views of the mountain. It was the perfect choice for our family adventure. Gilbert and his team of guides and porters were professional, highly skilled, and genuinely caring. A special thank you as well to Abel and Agustin, our fantastic assistant guides, whose encouragement, expertise, and constant support made a huge difference. They managed every detail with precision, ensuring our family felt safe, supported, and encouraged every step of the way. The entire crew worked seamlessly together, creating an atmosphere of teamwork and positivity that carried us through even the toughest sections of the climb. The food on the mountain was outstanding – plentiful, and far beyond what we ever expected at high altitude. The camp setups were always ready when we arrived, and the porters’ energy and smiles lifted our spirits daily. Their warmth and friendliness made the journey even more memorable. Thanks to their expertise and dedication, every single member of our family made it to the summit and back down safely – an achievement we will treasure forever.
