About Borton Overseas
Borton Overseas began in 1894 as Sunden, Vanstrum, and Co., specializing in steamship travel for immigrants coming to the U.S from Scandinavia. In 1986, Kjell Bergh acquired Vanstrum Travel. It became a division of Borton Overseas, and continued to expand with land tour and cruise programs throughout Scandinavia and Africa. Our tour and cruise program expansion continues as we seek out new partnerships and destinations. In 2002, Borton Overseas became the U. S. sales, marketing and reservation headquarters for UK-based Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines. In addition, we’ve aligned with some exceptional small ship cruise companies offering itineraries in the Baltic, along Norway’s west coast, through Sweden’s Gota Canal, and European river cruising. We’ve added expedition cruises in Iceland and Greenland, Antarctica, Patagonia and the Arctic. In Africa, we’re proud to have been a pioneer in promoting cultural interaction between travelers and local Africans. Our close partnerships with respected, reliable tour companies, guides, camps and lodges, allow us to provide exclusive experiences and exceptional service to our clients. Borton Overseas owns Trollstigen Resort in Andalsnes, Norway, a cabin resort situated in the stunning Romsdal region near the west coast, and is incorporated in Norway as Borton Overseas Norway AS. As a Borton Overseas client, you’ll benefit from our wealth of knowledge, gained through hands-on experience over more than 100 years. We’re proud of our history, and we look forward connecting you with your journey to an extraordinary land.
