Day 1

Amboseli | Kilimanjaro | Nairobi

DAY 1: Arrival - Nairobi - Amboseli - 265 Km/ 3 ½ - 4 hrs On arrival in Nairobi, we will be there to meet you in style for a pre safari briefing and thereafter depart for Amboseli National Park arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. Freshen up before an introductory late afternoon game drive app 1600hrs in the Park with a perfect view of Africa's highest mountain, Kilimanjaro in the backdrop! Dinner and overnight at AMBOSELI SOPA /Serena Sopa / Kibo Safari Camp /Similar- (L,D) Amboseli National Park provides the classic Hollywood image of Africa. Set in rolling savannah scenery it is dwarfed by the presence of the pink-tinged, snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro which, at 5,896 meters, is the highest free-standing mountain in the world and topped by one fifth of all the ice in Africa. Against this magnificent backdrop roam vast herds of elephant accompanied by a kaleidoscope of other fabulous wildebeests -lion, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, baboon, gazelle hippo and wildebeest to name but a few. There are also over 400 species of birds, all manner of reptilian, flora and fauna and some of the most soul-searing views in Africa. Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge Framed against the glorious backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain, the magnificently beautiful Mount Kilimanjaro, surrounded by miles of rolling grasslands, patrolled by vast herds of elephant, shaded by the lush, feathered-green of an acacia grove and hugging the banks of a gently flowing river, this very traditional yet supremely luxurious lodge is the safari destination of a lifetime.

Day 2

Amboseli | Kilimanjaro

DAY 2: Amboseli After breakfast at app 0630hrs, proceed for an early morning pre-breakfast game drive. This is considered a great time to view game when the animals are ready for a kill to start the day. Return to the camp/Lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, relax by the pool or opt to visit a Maasai Village (optional Extra) for an insight of their lifestyle. Lunch will be followed by a late afternoon 1630 hrs game drive where plains game namely zebra, wildebeest, giraffe and various antelopes can be seen. You will look out for the peak of Kilimanjaro which may be seen during clear weather from the camp, anywhere in the park or from the Observation hill. Large herds of elephants and hippo can be seen bathing in the swamp grounds whose waters source is Mt. Kilimanjaro. Hyenas laughing, lions growling, buffaloes blindly grazing in the fields and other species of wildlife and birds. Dinner and overnight at the LODGE/camp.

Day 3

Amboseli | Mount Kenya | Nairobi | Samburu

DAY 3: Amboseli - Nairobi - 256 KM/3-4 HRS : Nairobi - Samburu : 385 KM/4-5 HRS 0630hrs morning coffee/ full breakfast and we depart for Samburu via Nairobi (Driving time: approx 7½ hours) From Nairobi we travel north, skirting the jagged peak of Mount Kenya, en route to the dry, ochre plains of Samburu land. Green hills and fertile countryside gradually give way to more arid surroundings, as we descend into the northern frontier region. We reach Samburu in time for a late lunch and a quick swim in the pool at the Sarova Shaba /Sopa Lodge / similar. A little later in the afternoon we set out on our first game drive. The picturesque EwasoNyiro River flows along the southern border of the park and attracts elephant, lion and a variety of antelope, whilst the trees along the riverbanks conceal a sizeable leopard population. We return to the lodge for dinner. Meals included: 1 breakfast 1 lunch 1 dinner. Overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge / Serena / Simba Lodge/ Similar Luxury Tented Camp

Day 4

Lake Nakuru | Mount Kenya | Samburu

DAY 4: Samburu Game Reserve - Nakuru - Naivasha (Game drive times variable) Samburu is a delightful reserve and a region of dry savannah scrubland, with an impressive range of hills in the background that supports an excellent variety of animals including the beautiful Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, beisa oryx (similar to the gemsbok) and graceful gerenuk. There is also a sizeable elephant population and it is not uncommon to see family groups down by the river, where crocodiles may also be observed lurking in the shallows. Early morning game drive followed by breakfast and we depart. (Driving time: approx 4 hours) Returning along the shoulder of Mount Kenya where there are often good views of the twin snow-capped peaks, we drive across the Great Rift Valley toward Nakuru. We arrive in time for a late lunch at our cozy tented camp/ Hotel in town/Lodge/ Picnic Lunches and an afternoon game drive till dusk. We exit the park and drive to Naivasha where we stay overnight at SAWELA LODGE / NAIVASHA COUNTRY CLUB/ KIBOKO LUXURY CAMP Great Rift Valley. The Rift Valley was formed millions of years ago. Stretching some 5,000 miles from Jordan to Mozambique, it’s the largest Rift on Earth. In Kenya, the rift gave rise to many lakes that have become a habitat for diverse wildlife. One such lake is Lake Nakuru- a soda lake. Famously lake Nakuru attracts vast numbers of fabulously colored pink flamingos to its shallow waters. Hippo, various animals, black rhinos, giraffe, lion, leopards and a profusion of birds are also present at the lake

Day 5

Masai Mara | Serengeti

DAY 5: Lake Naivasha - Masai Mara 320 Km/ 4 hr Lake Naivasha-The highest of all the Rift Valley lakes, L. Naivasha is a beautiful shallow freshwater lake fringed by thick papyrus reeds. The waters of the lake draw great array of bird life to its shoreline. Buffalo wallow in the swamps, whilst the large hippo population laze their days in the shallows. Giraffe wander among the acacia, whilst the Colobus monkeys swing from the green canopies ABOVE. From here, you can visit Elsamere, Crescent Island game sanctuary/ 1 hr boat ride in lake Naivasha or Hells Gate National Park. We proceed! Descending the Great Rift Valley floor, we reach arguably Kenya’s most celebrated natural attraction-The Masai Mara game reserve. A 1,500 sq. km slab of open Savannah dotted with acacia trees-the Kenyan section of the wildly beautiful Serengeti plains, teems with wildlife. Being in the Mara has been described by some authorities as ‘’being in the New York of the natural world’’ Arrival in time for lunch. P. Day 7

Masai Mara | Serengeti

DAY 7: Masai Mara – Serengeti National Park / Tanzania Early Morning game drive in the Mara. After breakfast, depart for Nairobi. We will make a brief stop at the administrative town of Narok for your chance to sip a cup of coffee or browse for some souvenirs. Proceed to Serengeti The Northern National Parks are a true African experience, and one of Tanzania's main attractions. Here you'll witness the Great Serengeti Migrations, when millions of wildebeest, gazelles and zebra roam the plains in search of food. The entire Tanzanian ecosystem is on display here: birds, reptiles, mammals, and the mighty Savanna Acacia trees. The parks stretch across a varied landscape, from wooded hills in the north to the southern grassy plains. Dinner and overnight at Katikati Tented Lodge

Day 8

Serengeti

Day 8: Serengeti National Park Areas - Ngorongoro Conservation Area After breakfast we head back to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a vast UNESCO World Heritage Site situated in a 260km-wide volcano crater. Archaeology buffs and anyone interested in history have the option to stop at Odulpai Gorge, where some of the earliest known human remains have been found. The site was occupied by our genetic ancestors some two million years ago, and continues to offer clues about the origin of homo sapien. We can also pass by the Maasai boma for a taste of real African culture and traditional living. After lunch, we keep exploring the Ngorongoro crater, venturing right up to the rim for Dinner and overnight Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge

Day 9

Day 9: Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Manyara After breakfast, we take a packed lunch and head back to the crater. We detour through a traditional Maasai village, where you can get acquainted with the locals, watch some traditional dancing, and see what life is really like on the African plains. From there we descend to the crater floor in search of more big game. The Ngorongoro crater is rich in Tanzanian wildlife, and November to December is the best time to see it. The short rainy season is over and the animals come out in big numbers to enjoy the fresh water and green grass. We eat our packed lunches on the crater floor, at one of several picnic sites near Lerai Forest or Hippo Pool. If we’re lucky, we’ll spot the rare Black Rhinoceros. In the late afternoon we venture back up out of the crater and head onward to Manyara National Park, where we spend the night at Bougainvillea Lodge

Day 10

Lake Manyara | Tarangire

Day 10: Manyara National Park to Tarangire After breakfast, start at 0800 hrs with a morning game drive at Lake Manyara National Park. The park covers 330 sq. km, 70% of which is occupied by the lake. The varied ecosystem consists of ground water forests, acacia woodland and open grassland along the lake shore and sustains a wealth of wildlife, including the Big Five -lion, elephant, leopard, rhino and buffalo. The park is famous for the elusive tree-climbing lions that inhabit the woodland between the lake and the Rift Valley. It is also an ornithologists’ paradise and is host to over 400 species of birds. Dinner and overnight at TarangireSangaiwe Lodge.

Day 11

Arusha | Tarangire

Day 11: Tarangire National Park to Arusha We save the best for last. After breakfast, we embark on our final game drive through the Tarangire National Park. African elephants – the world’s biggest mammals – are very common in this area. The park is also dotted with the iconic Baobab, shrub-like trees that can grow up to 30m tall. After a full day of exploring Tarangire, Later in the afternoon, we head to Arusha for overnight. Dinner and over night at Outpost Lodge

Day 12

Arusha | Kilimanjaro

Day 12: Arusha to Kilimanjaro Airport It's the final day in Tanzania, Take advantage of the relaxed schedule and sleep in before breakfast is served. Enjoy the breathtaking views and Mount Kilimanjaro sun rise one last time and also if time allows be sure to grab any last minute souvenirs you may want and say one last goodbye to the new friends you made in Tanzania before being transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home.
