This amazing 13-day mobile camping tour will take you around Zimbabwe, including Victoria Falls, Hwange National Park, Matopos, Great Zimbabwe Ruins, Gonarezhou National Park, and the Eastern Highlands including Vumba Mountains, Nyanga then lastly Harare. Come explore Africa with us!

Day 1
Victoria Falls On your first day, you will be met by your driver/guide and take part in a short briefing where you can ask any questions you may have about your tour. You will begin your journey driving toVictoria Falls. Upon arrival you will have an opportunity to roam around the town of Victoria Falls discovering places on your own. Later in the evening you will enjoy a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River. Dinner will be at a local restaurant. After dinner, you will check-in at N1 Hotel Victoria Falls for your overnight stay.

Day 2
Victoria Falls/Hwange National Park After breakfast you will check-out and be picked up from the hotel to take part in a guided tour of the falls on the Zimbabwe side. Soon after the tour you will depart for Tuskers Campsite at the borders of Hwange National Park. Upon arrival, you will check-in, help setup camp and enjoy lunch. After a quick lunch you will depart for a game drive. In the evening you will return to camp, have dinner around the campfire and then settle in for your overnight stay.

Day 3
Hwange National Park You will rise for an early morning game drive followed by brunch in camp. After you eat, you have time to relax in camp overlooking the waterhole where you might see the wildlife come to quench their thirst. Optional activities are available at the main Ivory Lodge. You will enjoy dinner around the campfire sharing the day’s experiences before turning in early in preparation for your early morning departure.

Day 4
Matobo National Park After breakfast, you will help dismantle camp, check-out and start your drive towards Bulawayo. Upon arrival in Bulawayo, you will help to set-up camp, enjoy a quick lunch and then enjoy the afternoon at your leisure. Optional activities are available in the afternoon, upon request. Dinner is served around the campfire and then you will turn in for the night.

Day 5
Matobo National Park - Burkes Paradise After an early morning breakfast, you will depart for Matobo National Park. Here you have the opportunity to see the endangered black rhino and visit the final resting place of Cape Town Prime Minister, Cecil John Rhodes. John Rhodes died in Muizenberg, Cape Town; and despite the fact that the Boer War still raged, his body was sent on an epic railway journey through war torn South Africa to Rhodesia to be laid to rest at this spot. You will return to camp in late afternoon. Dinner will be served around the campfire and then you will settle in for the night.

Day 6 Masvingo After an early morning breakfast, you will help dismantle camp and prepare for departure. You will travel to Masvingo, home of Great Zimbabwe Ruins. Upon arrival you will help set up camp, have lunch and then depart for the trip to the Great Zimbabwe Ruins. Once Zimbabwe’s capital, the ancient city of Great Zimbabwe is the biggest and most significant stone archaeological complex in sub-Saharan Africa; thought to date back to the 11th century and second only to South Africa’s Mapungwe. Composed entirely of rectangular granite blocks stacked on top of one another without the use of mortar, the walls and towers of the city measure up to 12 metres in places. Great Zimbabwe was designated a World Heritage Site in 1986. You can look forward to wandering through these ancient stone structures and immersing in the history of this important heritage site. Later in the evening, you will return to camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 7
Gonarezhou National Park After breakfast, you will help dismantle camp and begin your journey to Chipinda Pools, in Gonarezhou National Park. You will arrive in time for lunch in camp and then depart for an afternoon game drive in Gonarezhou National Park. Gonarezhou, meaning ‘place of elephants’, is Zimbabwe’s second-largest national park and home to over 10,000 elephants. The park extends across a vast area of floodplains, baobab-dotted scrubland, mopane woodland and pale orange sandstone cliffs. Here you have the chance to see 4 of Africa’s “Big Five”, including elephant, leopard, lion and buffalo - as well as a multiplicity of other animal and bird species. You will camp in an unfenced campsite for a truly close encounter with the spectacular park wildlife. Other highlights include: viewing the beautiful Chilojo Cliffs towering over the scenic Runde River valley, bird watching and game viewing. In the evening you will return to camp for dinner and your overnight stay. Main Destination: Gonarezhou National Park Best Time to Visit: June to October (During the Dry season) High Season: June to August (The park is rarely busy) Best Weather: April to September (Rains are extremely rare)

Day 8
Chipinda Pools After an early morning sunrise game drive, you will return to camp for brunch and some time to rest and relax. After lunch you can enjoy the option game drive around the Chipinda Pools Camp. The camp is located high up on the banks of the Runde River offering views over extensive Phragmites reedbeds frequented by elephants. The riverine fringe provides excellent birding and with some luck one might get a sighting of one of the resident Pel’s Fishing Owls. Game in the vicinity of the camp is extremely relaxed with groups of nyala, kudu, impala and elephant happily passing through camp. The camp was completed in July 2012 through funding provided by the Frankfurt Zoological Society as part of the Gonarezhou Conservation Project. Later in the evening you will enjoy dinner and then settle in for your overnight stay.

Day 9
Eastern Highlands After breakfast you will check-out of camp and make your way to the Eastern Highlands. This is the mountainous range in the eastern part of Zimbabwe. Upon arrival, you will have lunch and then enjoy some leisure time or take part in some optional activities that include visiting the local school and orphanage where donations are welcome. Dinner will take place around the campfire and then you will settle in for your overnight stay.

Eastern Highlands After breakfast, you will depart on a scenic drive to Vumba to visit the botanical gardens. The Vumba Botanical Gardens and Reserve were established on a portion of the farm formerly known as Manchester. The well-wooded park includes landscaped gardens built around perennial streams which form a small lake. A network of footpaths enable you to explore the interior of the reserve that is well endowed with indigenous orchids, ferns and strategically positioned flower beds. Birdlife is also abundant here. You will go back to camp for lunch and then have time to rest at your leisure. Dinner will be around the campfire and then you will settle in for your overnight stay. Day 11 Nyanga National Park After breakfast you will check-out and begin your travels to Nyanga. Upon arrival, you will help setup camp and then have lunch. Nyanga National Park is home to a multitude of scenic rivers, refreshing streams and breathtaking waterfalls. The park boasts both Zimbabwe’s highest mountain peak and its highest waterfall. The elevated altitude provides a cool and pleasant climate and fresh mountain air, perfect for rest, relaxation and plenty of outdoor adventures. The mountainous terrain and its sparkling fresh water sources offer excellent opportunities for fly fishing, sailing, canoeing, swimming, and hiking. You are likely to encounter a variety of fascinating wildlife including, among others: kudu, zebra, impala, sables, and eland. Dinner will be served around the campfire and then you will settle in for your overnight stay.

Day 12
Harare After breakfast, you will check-out and depart for Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe. Upon arrival at Bronte Garden Hotel, you will check-in, have lunch. After lunch you can have leisure time or take part in optional activities. Harare is the country’s most cosmopolitan and contemporary destination, dotted with restaurants, bars, shops and markets. Its proud historical and cultural heritage is reflected in several old, well-preserved buildings and informative museums. Many parks and gardens provide a pleasant contrast to the bustling urban sectors. You may visit the Mukuvisi Woodlands, a natural wilderness or the Kopje, a rocky hill to the southwest of Harare that offers great views over the city. Other city highlights include the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe Museum of Human Sciences, the Chapungu Sculpture Park, and the National Botanic Garden. Dinner will be served at the hotel later in the evening before you settle in for your overnight stay.

Day 13
Harare After breakfast you will check-out and have your airport transfers arranged with your guide. Check in times for international flights are 2 hours before departure. Our guides will drop you off at the airport and bid you farewell; leaving you with good memories of the best that Zimbabwe has to offer. This is where your safari will end.
