Itinerary
Day 1
Day 1: Explore Windhoek Free time to explore the capital of Namibia. Windhoek is home to approximately three hundred and fifty thousand people, an extremely small capital by global standards. The city centre is characterised by a proliferation of German style buildings, a lasting reminder of Namibia’s early colonial history.
Day 2
Days 2 – 3: Sossusvlei Enjoy the amazing scenery of the desert, and maybe take a short walk to Deadvlei, a bizarre collection of ancient camelthorn trees, or climb the nearby dunes. Return to Sesriem and perhaps take a look at Sesriem Canyon before returning to the lodge.
Day 4
Days 4 – 5: Swakopmund Visit this fascinating and intriguing coastal town complete with German architecture, monuments, historic buildings and great coffee bars and restaurants. Enjoy a luxury and stylish catamaran cruise on the Walvis bay Lagoon – learn about the scallop and oyster industries. Look out for dolphins (Heavyside, Dusky and Atlantic Bottlenose), and whales (Southern Right, Humpback and if you’re lucky Killer Whales/Orcas).
Day 6
Days 6 – 7: Damaraland Enjoy the dramatic Damaraland landscape where this seemingly stark environment is amazingly home to a range of wildlife including desert-adapted elephants and rhinos. Head out on a fascinating trip to the local rock art site at nearby Twyfelfontein, with some of the most renowned San art engravings in Namibia.
Day 8
Etosha
Days 8 – 9: Etosha National park Etosha National Park is a major sanctuary for a variety of animal species in Africa, protecting the largest concentration of game in the country. Spend time watching the floodlit water holes on your Namibia safari, creating a natural theatrical spectacle for you to sit back and enjoy. Morning safaris and a night drive maximise your opportunities to see wildlife.
Day 10
Day 10: Okonjima Plains Camp The Okonjima Experience: an opportunity for leopard tracking – search for the rare & endangered species rarely seen, even by locals! This activity offers guests the opportunity to be part of the 28 year study, aiming to provide insights into a sustainable future for the leopard populations.
Day 11
Day 11: Flight home Return to Windhoek with some amazing memories.
