Travel to Queen Elizabeth NP

Having had breakfast, meet your guide and have a short briefing about the tour. Travel west of Uganda to Queen Elizabeth National park. On the way expect to see green plant cover Uganda is known for. You re to have lunch on the way and an evening game drive on arrival.

Day 2 Game drive and boat trip

We wake up early for a morning game drive to search for the early risers. This is the best time to spot predators such as lions, leopards and the spotted hyena. Our game drive ends at the shores of Lake George giving you a chance to see a typical Ugandan fishing village. We then feed on our packed lunch and drive to the Mweya peninsular so as to have a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel. Expect to see elephants, hippos, leopards, crocodiles, buffaloes,warthogs e.t.c.

Day 3 Chimpanzee tracking

After breakfast, we prepare ourselves for the once in a life time experience (chimpanzee tracking). You may track the chimps in the Kyambura Gorge or Imaramagambo Forest or Kalinzu Forest; the choice is yours. Having encountered them, you will have a full hour with them. The chimpanzees’ behavior can provide a clue to that of our early ancestors. We then start our journey to FortPortal as we get ready for the 3 days’ mini trek in the Rwenzoris also known as “Mountains of the moon”

Day 4 Ascend the Rwenzori

This morning you will be transferred from your Hotel to the base of the mountain/Kazingo. Hike into the Rwenzoris to your first campsite. (1500m). The first day shall take us about 6-8 hours before reaching the first camping site near Karangora Peak. Experience the daily life of the Bakonzo people, help with food preparation, and enjoy a local meal. The trek is through beautiful scenery and rare plant species which the Rwenzoris is known for.

Day 5 Ascend the Rwenzoris

This phase of the trek is aimed at climbing Karangora Peak, a perfect hike from the Park Boundary, following the Mpanga River up a beautiful valley; Climb to the top of the mountain ridge at about (2300m), passing stunning views of the Rift Valley, Lake Albert, and western Uganda. At the summit of Karangora (3012m), the highest peak of the Northern Rwenzori Mountains, views west to Bundibugyo and the Congo, south to Kasese, east to Fort Portal, and north to the Semuliki Valley.

Day 6 Descend the Rwenzoris

You will descend to the Rift Valley floor and onto Bundibugyo Town. This morning, you will be overlooking the original Echuya Forest/The Congo basin. Enjoy unique bird species and scenic views of the Rift Valley, Semuliki River, and the DR Congo. Your driver will already be this side for your transfer to your camping site/Hotel hence end of the hike. While up in the mountains, you may opt to visit a coffee farm or a black smith or an apiary.

Day 7 Travel to Entebbe

Having had breakfast at leisure, you will be transferred to Kampala. You will be dropped off at a place of your choice in Kampala or ntebbe hence end of trip.
