This family adventure is filled with wildlife. You will start in Durban, home to one of the biggest aquariums in Africa to explore fascinating underworld. You will then move north to the idyllic town of St Lucia, famous for hippos walking its streets. Sunset hippo and crocs cruise is a must do in the area. The next morning you will be waking up early to catch those early birds and wild game in the UNESCO Heritage site iSimangaliso Wetlands Park. A stroll and optional snorkeling on the Cape Vidal beach is a fantastic way to start your day.
The next 3 days you will spend in the Wilderness of Hluhluwe-Umfolozi nature reserve, the oldest proclaimed in Africa. Your day will start early with some coffee and rusks, then exciting morning safari in open vehicle with experienced ranger, steaming breakfast upon your return and much needed rest. Afternoon tea to keep your energy going and off for another game drive before an intimate dinner by the fire.

Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1. Upon your arrival in King Shaka International Airport you will be met and assisted to the car rental office where your vehicle will be waiting for you with GPS and full travel guide. Overnight: Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani 4* or similar on Bed and Breakfast basis

Day 2

Day 2. Today you will visit Ushaka Marine World to get aquinted with the beautiful marine life. An adjecent water park and kids world are a lot of fun that will certainly fill the whole day. Overnight: Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani 4* or similar on Bed and Breakfast basis

Day 3

Day 3: After a hearty breakfast and a nice stroll by the Whale Pier and Umhlanga Lighthouse you will be on your way Norht towards St Lucia that is a mere 2.5 hours away. After you check into your lodge you will proceed to meet the famous hippos of the town on the 2 hour Hippo and Crocs cruise. Afternoon is at leisure to gear up and prepare for all the safariing that is coming your way! Overnight: Lidiko Lodge or similar 4 stars

Day 4

Day 4: Early morning safari in the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park is an excellent way to start your day! Guided tour of Cape Vidal through iSimangaliso Wetland Park Eastern Shores is a fantastic experience. At low tide you will be able to do some snorkeling or just enjoy the unique bush and beach experience in this sheltered bay. Overnight: Lidiko Lodge or similar 4 stars

Day 5

Day 5-6: Today you will make your way to the oldests proclaimed nature reserve in Africa. The next 2 days you will spend in the Wilderness of Hluhluwe-Umfolozi nature reserve. Your typical day will start early with some coffee and rusks, then exciting morning safari in open vehicle with experienced ranger, steaming breakfast upon your return and much needed rest. Afternoon tea to keep your energy going and off for another game drive before an intimate dinner by the fire. Overnight: Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge on Full Board plus activities basis for 3 nights Dat 7: After the morning game drive it is time to pack back home. It is around 3 hours drive to King Shaka International Airport, where your rental car is to be dropped off.
