Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1 and 2: Welcome to “The Warmest Place to be” Durban or as we locals call it Durbs. Your driver will collect you from King Shaka International Airport and transfer you to Teremok Marine Lodge & Spa. Your Durban base is located in the atmospheric town of Umhlanga Rocks which offers a secure abode from where to enjoy the beach as well as taste the cuisine and connect with the locals. Ready to immerse yourself in Zulu Culture, Art and Music? Spend your first full day tasting traditional food, seeing local art and learning how to play djembe drums or dancing Pantsula style.

Day 3

Day 3 and 4: Time to head out of the city north along the Indian Ocean all the way to the Isimangaliso Wetland Park — a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Welcome to Makakatana Bay Lodge, the only lodge with a private concession within the UNESCO Site. This untouched wilderness made for cinematography. Spend the next 2 nights exploring this pristine area by private boats, on foot for a more immersive experience and by authentic safari jeep to get close to the plains game that inhabit this area. At Makakatana bay Lodge you’re not likely to come across too many other travellers.

Day 5

Day 5 to 7: Manyoni or the Zululand Rhino Reserve received its reserve status due to their Rhino Conservation work. The reserve now is a big 5 reserve offering some of the best value safaris in South Africa. Check into Rhino Sands on the southern side of the Manyoni game Reserve popular amongst giraffe, rhino and lions. This luxury safari lodge balances old world wonder with trendy design. Spend 3 nights at this luxury camp whilst you embark on 2 daily game drives in authentic open vehicles. During the middle of the day why not cool off in your private hot tub overlooking the riverbed.

Day 8

Day 8: The MotherCity [Cape Town] beckons. Enjoy your final game drive at Rhino Sands before boarding your domestic flight to Cape Town where your driver will meet and transfer you to the foot of the iconic Table Mountain National Park. Check into the Kensington Place Hotel Spend the next 4 nights in the eclectic city renowned for it’s postcard backdrop, vibrant culture and stunning winelands. To give you a kick start to your Cape adventure we have included 2 fantastic full day tours to ensure you hit the ground running and get to grips with the city before you start exploring on your own.

Day 9

Day 9 to 11: The Winelands! Enjoy a foodie foraging and wine experience on an organic wine estate that sits on 160-hectares of sustainably farmed land in the well known Paarl region. Next, you’ll experience a one-of-a-kind 4×4 Eco Wine Safari through the biodynamic vineyards while the chef prepares your three course meal. For your second tour a specialist art insider will take you into a variety of Cape Town’s most unique and exclusive art galleries including the iconic Zeitz MOCAA [Africa’s first and only museum of contemporary African art]. Meet local artists, hear their stories and tap into an authentic view of the African art scene.

Day 12

Day 12: You would have noticed that we’ve left a full day completely free for you to do a bit of your own explorations. If you need some tips, you’ll have us on Whatsapp the whole time you’re out there and we’re always eager to share our local insights. It’s your final day in Cape Town, why not put on your trainers and hike up the picturesque Table Mountain? After checkout your driver will collect you from Kensington Place Hotel and transfer you back to Cape Town Airport in time for your flight out of South Africa.
