This Okavango Delta & Victoria Falls Safari is an excellent way to experience some of the top natural wonders, wilderness areas and game viewing in Southern Africa, at an affordable price!

Day 1 -Overnight: Tuli Game Reserve

A land of huge vistas, big skies and giant trees.

An abundance of elephants, large cats, vast herds of antelope and more than 350 species of birds.

Where the present echoes with footsteps of the past, making it difficult for one to leave, and impelling for one to return. This is the Northern Tuli Game Reserve!

Day 2-Overnight: Palapye

Situated on the main A1 highway from Gaborone - Francistown, Palapye benefits a lot from passing trade. Originally established around the railway, Palapye was further developed after the discovery of coal and the subsequent construction of two power stations, which can be seen as you approach the town.

The village itself has expanded rapidly in the last few years and the construction of the University will further help to boost the local economy. Few tourists actually go into the centre of Palapye as the Junction Shopping Mall and surrounding shops have everything you need.

Day 3/4-Overnight: Xhumaga

Makgadikgadi Pans National Park

Situated in northeastern Botswana, the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park covers an impressive 3900 square kilometer area and is brimming with natural wonders including the largest tree in Africa, a world famous 5300-year-old Baobab. Game viewing is at its best during the wet season when the plains teem with an extraordinary diversity of wildlife. The rains transform the salt pans into a magnificent lake attracting an abundance of wildlife and, most spectacularly, large flocks of gloriously pink flamingos.

The area is renowned for its massive herds of wildebeest and zebra which migrate to the park en masse followed by a variety of predators including lion, cheetah and hyena. Popular activities include game drives, bird watching, exploring the salt pans on 4WD or quad bikes, tours of Gweta Village, and fascinating bush walks to historic sites guided by experienced Bushmen trackers.

Day 5/6-Overnight: Maun Rest Camp

Set in a shady riverside garden Maun Rest Camp focuses on travelers looking for a self drive venue with spacious self drive campsites that have fireplaces and power points. The camp is situated on the banks of the Thamalakane. The camp's furnished tents are all carpeted and feature comfortable beds. Maun Rest Camp also offers free WI-FI access.

Day 7/8Overnight: Khwai Mobile Camp

Your journey to the mobile camp in the Khwai Community Area is by light aircraft that departs from Maun Airport and then flies over the Moremi Game Reserve and the Okavango Delta which will give you a wonderful view of how the waters of the Okavango soak into the Kalahari sands that surround this wonder of nature and make it one of the most famous game viewing areas of Africa. The camp is under the shady trees next to the waters of the Okavango Delta and in the heart of this excellent game viewing area. The mobile camp has all the basic amenities that you will require, the tents are 3 x 4m walk in safari tents with a high roof and a 3 x 3m en-suite bathroom and a 2 x 3m covered area in front of the tent. The tents are fitted with solid base camp beds made up with mattresses, sheets, duvets and pillows. The tents have en-suite long drop toilet facilities and a bucket shower at the rear of the tent. Showers can be ordered as hot, cold or warm and the water is heated in a bucket on the fire. Both hand towels and bath towels are supplied for the guests’ convenience but please note that guests should bring their own personal items and toiletries.

Each tent has an oil/paraffin lamp on the veranda and in the bathroom and within the tent itself, a LED rechargeable camp light is supplied along with a side table in the sleeping area and in the bathroom.

Although each tent has lighting and there are lamps strategically around the camp for navigation, an essential tool for your safari is a headlamp which lets you read a book at night in your tent or catch up with your safari journal as you listen to the sounds of the wild outside!

For safari activities while there are game drives – night drives and also bush walks. This area is famous for its excellent leopard and wild dog sightings and of course the many antelope and bird species plus the large mammals like elephants and buffalo that are drawn to the waters of the Okavango.

Day 9/10-Overnight: Chobe Safari Lodge

Chobe Safari Lodge is situated in Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River and shares a border with Chobe National Park. Right on the doorstep is the meeting of four African countries: Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Chobe Safari Lodge therefore offers an excellent getaway location to Chobe, Victoria Falls or Caprivi.

The close proximity to Victoria Falls International Airport, Livingstone International Airport and Kasane International Airport makes it easily accessible, with daily road transfers or charter flights connecting all these airports with Chobe Safari Lodge. The lodge has been recently renovated; matching a magical lodge experience to the spectacular game viewing.

Day 11-Overnight: Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel

Victoria Falls Rainbow hotel is within walking distance from the Victoria Falls, the town centre, the railway station as well as the commercial district. The Airport is roughly 25km from the hotel. This hotel offer attention to detail, personal service and offers the base from which to pursue adrenaline pumping sporting activities.

The lodge is located next to the Zambezi National Park and it’s possible to spot some hippos, crocodiles or game coming in for a drink from the rooms.

Traditional shows ( traditional Ndebele Dancers and the Makishi from the Matonga tribe) depicting the original diversity of the Zimbabwean and Southern African culture.

Day12/13-Overnight: Nata Lodge

An oasis set among the Mokolwane palms on the edge of the pans. It is ideally situated close to the entrance to the Nata Sanctuary and is just off the main road, 10 km from Nata village. This is the junction to the Okavango, Chobe and Francistown areas.

The Nata River delta feeds the Sua Pan in the Nata sanctuary and forms the breeding ground for a host of water birds including pelicans and flamingo in their thousands, transforming the shore line into a pink haze blending into the western sky.
