Itinerary

Day 1

DAY 1 Fly overnight from London via Johannesburg and Maun into the Delta

Day 2

Moremi

DAYS 2 to 4 You will arrive for lunch at Shinde Camp on the northern edge of the permanent waters of the OKAVANGO DELTA and just outside the Moremi Reserve. The benefit of this location is the variety of options for game viewing including game drives by day and after dark, mokoro (dug out canoe), walking and motor boat trips. There is also excellent fishing! The main building of the camp is on split-level raised decks in the canopy of ancient jackalberry, water fig and knobthorn trees. The eight traditional safari-style tents all have exceptional views over the delta.

Day 5

DAYS 5 to 7 Next you will fly south west to another small, luxurious tented camp, Kanana, located in the remote inner reaches of the Delta. The eight tents and communal facilities of the camp are built on stilts to ensure a clear view of the floodplains. Traditional game drives are offered and the area is excellent for walking and game viewing by mokoro or motor boat. Close by is a heronry where bird sightings are fantastic all year and there are regular sightings of the rare Pels fishing owl.

Day 8

DAY 8 Fly via Maun to Johannesburg. To gently wean you off the bush before the sophisticated elegance that awaits you in Mauritius, spend a night at The Peech in the leafy suburb of Melrose within easy reach of the airport in JOHANNESBURG. This stylish, small hotel has 16 elegant rooms and the Bistro Restaurant serves delicious food with a wide choice of wines from their cellar.

Day 9

DAYS 9 to 14 Now fly to the beautiful island of MAURITIUS where, along a stretch of sandy beach on the north east coast not far from the bustling vibe of Grande Baie, is Lux* Grand Gaube. This lovely hotel was designed along the Feng Shui principle of finding equilibrium in the physical environment to enable positive energy to circulate. Manifested in the feeling of peace that pervades the public areas, the creative use of space, natural or dark brown shades of the décor, the beauty of bamboo, stone walls and the gentle sound of chimes all play their part.
