The trek passes through some of Kilimanjaro's most impressive landscapes, including Shira Plateau, Lava Tower, Barranco Valley and the Southern Circuit. Pre Day Arrival in Moshi

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where your Kiwia Africa Tours representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. Check in, relax and recover from your journey. In the evening, meet your mountain guide for a trek briefing and equipment check. Prepare for your Kilimanjaro adventure the following morning. Accommodation: Parkview Hotel in Moshi Meals: Dinner

Londorrosi Gate → Mti Mkubwa Camp

fter breakfast, drive from Moshi to Lemosho Gate on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro. Complete registration and meet your mountain crew before beginning the trek. The trail starts through beautiful montane rainforest, with opportunities to see birds, monkeys and other forest wildlife. Continue gradually through the forest toward Big Tree Camp, where you will have dinner and spend your first night on the mountain. Hiking: Approximately 3–4 hours Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Big Tree Camp → Shira Camp

After breakfast, continue climbing out of the rainforest toward the higher moorland zone. The vegetation becomes shorter as the landscape opens into expansive mountain scenery. Continue toward the Shira Plateau, one of Kilimanjaro's most spectacular areas. On clear days, enjoy views across the plateau and toward the summit. Shira Camp → Lava Tower → Barranco

Today is an important acclimatization day. Trek across the Shira Plateau toward Lava Tower at approximately 4,630 metres. After reaching the Lava Tower area, descend toward the spectacular Barranco Valley. The climb-high-and-descend approach gives your body an opportunity to adapt to higher altitude. The landscape changes dramatically as you approach Barranco, with giant senecio plants and impressive views of the mountain. Hiking: Approximately 7–9 hours Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Barranco Camp → Karanga Camp

Begin the day with the famous Barranco Wall. Your guide will assist you through the steeper sections as you climb the wall. Once above the Barranco Wall, continue across a series of ridges and valleys toward Karanga Camp. This shorter trekking day allows time to rest and prepare for the final approach to Barafu. Enjoy dinner and overnight at Karanga Camp. Hiking: Approximately 4–5 hours Accommodation: Karanga Camp Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Karanga Camp → Barafu Camp

After breakfast, continue toward Barafu Camp, the final base camp before the summit.The landscape becomes increasingly rocky and alpine as you leave the vegetation behind.Arrive at Barafu Camp, have lunch and spend the afternoon resting and preparing for the summit attempt.Your guide will conduct a detailed summit briefing covering the early departure, clothing, hydration, altitude awareness and safety. Hiking: Approximately 3–4 hours Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Barafu Camp → Uhuru Peak → Mweka

Wake around midnight and begin your summit ascent in darkness. The trail climbs gradually toward Stella Point on the crater rim. Continue along the crater rim toward Uhuru Peak at 5,895 metres, the highest point in Africa. Reach the summit around sunrise, weather and individual pace permitting. Celebrate your achievement and take photographs and Enjoy. Descend to Barafu Camp to Mweka gate then Your Kiwia Africa Tours vehicle will meet you at the gate and transfer you back to Moshi.
