Moshi – Rongai Gate – Simba Camp

Kilimanjaro

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel in Moshi and transferred to Rongai Gate. After completing registration and park formalities, you will begin your trek through the beautiful countryside and montane forest. The trail is relatively gentle as you gradually gain altitude. You may encounter wildlife and enjoy views of the surrounding landscapes before reaching Simba Camp, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Simba Camp – Kikelelwa Camp

After breakfast, you will continue your trek through the forest and gradually enter the heath and moorland zone. The landscape becomes more open as you climb higher, with spectacular views across the northern slopes of Kilimanjaro. You will continue toward Kikelelwa Camp, where you will have dinner and spend the night. Hiking time: Approximately 6–7 hours Habitat: Moorland Overnight: Kikelelwa Camp

Kikelelwa Camp – Mawenzi Tarn Camp

After breakfast, you will begin a shorter but scenic trek toward Mawenzi Tarn Camp. The trail continues through the moorland and alpine vegetation, with dramatic views of Mawenzi Peak, one of Kilimanjaro's three volcanic cones. Mawenzi Tarn Camp – Kibo Hut

Today you will cross the spectacular Saddle, a wide alpine desert area between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The landscape becomes increasingly barren as you approach Kibo Camp, located at approximately 4,700 metres. You will have an early dinner and rest in preparation for the summit attempt. Kibo Camp – Uhuru Peak – Horombo Hu

Kilimanjaro

You will begin your summit attempt around midnight or in the early morning hours. The climb is challenging, taking you through steep scree toward Gilman's Point and onward to Stella Point on the crater rim. From there, you will continue along the crater rim toward Uhuru Peak, at 5,895 metres (19,341 feet). After reaching the summit, you will begin your descent toward Horombo Hut, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

HOROMBO HUT

Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate – Moshi

After breakfast, you will begin your final descent through the beautiful montane forest toward Marangu Gate. Upon reaching the gate, you will complete the park exit procedures and receive your summit certificates. Your driver will then transfer you back to your hotel in Moshi.
