Moshi – Marangu Gate – Mandara Hut

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel in Moshi and driven to Marangu Gate for registration and park formalities. Begin your trek through the beautiful rainforest, where you may see monkeys, colorful birds and lush vegetation. Continue steadily uphill to Mandara Hut, where you will have dinner and spend the night. Trekking distance: approximately 8 km Trekking time: 3–4 hours Altitude: 1,860 m – 2,720 m

Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut

After breakfast, continue your climb through the rainforest before entering the moorland zone. The vegetation gradually changes as you ascend, with impressive views of the surrounding landscapes and, weather permitting, views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Arrive at Horombo Hut for dinner and overnight. Trekking distance: approximately 12 km Trekking time: 5–7 hours Altitude: 2,720 m – 3,720 m

Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut

Today you trek toward Kibo Hut, passing through the alpine desert zone. The trail becomes more open and rocky as you approach the base of the summit. Take the afternoon to rest, hydrate and prepare for the summit attempt, which begins later at night. Trekking distance: approximately 10 km Trekking time: 6–8 hours Altitude: 3,720 m – 4,703 m

Kibo Hut – Uhuru Peak – Horombo Hut

Wake up around midnight and begin your summit attempt. Trek slowly through the darkness toward Gilman's Point on the crater rim. Continue along the crater rim toward Stella Point and then onward to Uhuru Peak at 5,895 m, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement and taking photographs, descend back to Kibo Hut for a short rest before continuing down to Horombo Hut for dinner and overnight.

Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate – Moshi

After breakfast, begin your final descent through the lush rainforest toward Marangu Gate. Complete the park exit procedures and collect your summit certificate. You will then be transferred back to Moshi, marking the end of your 5 Days Kilimanjaro Marangu Route Budget Climb.
