Experience the very best of Kenya on an unforgettable 11-day private safari and beach holiday combining the wildlife-rich Maasai Mara, the elephant-filled plains of Amboseli and the white sandy beaches of Diani.

This is a private safari for two adults, based on double sharing, with your own private 4x4 Land Cruiser and dedicated English-speaking driver-guide throughout the safari portion of the journey.

You will spend 4 nights in the Maasai Mara, giving you plenty of time for game drives and wildlife viewing, followed by 2 nights in Amboseli, famous for its magnificent elephants and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro. From Amboseli, you will travel to Emali SGR Station and take the SGR train to the coast before continuing to Diani Beach for 5 nights at Baobab Beach Resort & Spa.

The Maasai Mara section of the journey has been designed to give you substantial time in the reserve, with a strong focus on the wildlife you are most interested in, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants and giraffes.

The domestic flight from the Maasai Mara to Amboseli provides a convenient connection between the two safari destinations, while the SGR journey from Emali provides a comfortable way to continue to the Kenyan coast.

Nairobi to Maasai Mara

Your Kenyan adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport. Jossec Safaris will meet you, provide a safari briefing and introduce you to your dedicated driver-guide before you begin your journey towards the famous Maasai Mara. The drive takes you through the scenic Kenyan countryside towards the Great Rift Valley and to the Maasai Mara. Upon arrival, you will check in at your camp and have lunch before heading out for your first afternoon game drive.

Full-Day Maasai Mara Game Drive

Masai Mara

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in the Maasai Mara. With a full day available, you can explore different areas of the reserve rather than rushing between destinations. The Maasai Mara is renowned for its exceptional concentrations of wildlife, particularly big cats. A picnic lunch can be carried so that you can spend more time exploring the reserve. Return to camp later in the afternoon or early evening.

Start the day with an early morning game drive when wildlife is particularly active. The cool morning hours can provide excellent opportunities to see predators returning from their nocturnal activities, as well as herbivores beginning their day. Return to camp for breakfast and some relaxation before lunch. In the afternoon, continue with another game drive, exploring different areas of the reserve according to wildlife movements and the recommendations of your guide.

Maasai Mara Full-Day Safari

Enjoy another full day exploring the Maasai Mara. The additional time in the Mara increases your opportunities to encounter some of Kenya's most famous wildlife. Your guide will monitor current wildlife activity and choose suitable areas to explore. The focus will remain on providing excellent wildlife-viewing opportunities, particularly for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants and giraffes. Return to camp in the late afternoon.

Maasai Mara to Amboseli

Enjoy breakfast at your camp before preparing for your transfer to the Maasai Mara airstrip. Depending on the operational schedule and available time, you may have a short morning game drive before proceeding to the airstrip. Your domestic flight is scheduled to depart the Maasai Mara at approximately 11:30 and arrive in Amboseli at approximately 12:30. Upon arrival in Amboseli, you will be met and transferred to your lodge.

Wake up early for breakfast before heading into Amboseli National Park for a full-day game drive. Amboseli's landscape provides an exceptional setting for wildlife photography, especially when elephants are seen against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Explore the park's plains, wetlands and other wildlife-rich areas while searching for elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas and a variety of bird species. A picnic lunch can be carried during the game drive,

Amboseli to Emali SGR Station

After breakfast, check out and begin your road transfer from Amboseli to Emali SGR Station. The transfer will be coordinated with your scheduled SGR departure. At Emali Station, board the SGR train for your journey towards the Kenyan coast. The train journey allows you to relax and enjoy the changing scenery as you travel towards the coast. Upon arrival at the designated coastal SGR station, you will be met by your transfer driver and continue by road to Diani Beach.
