Transfer to Nyugwe Forest

Nyungwe Forest

Pick up from Kigali and start the scenic 5–6 hour drive southwest to Nyungwe. En route, visit cultural and historical sites such as the King’s Palace in Nyanza or the National Ethnographic Museum in Huye. Drive past lush tea plantations and rolling hills.

Chimpanzee trekking & Canopy walk

Nyungwe Forest

Early morning breakfast, then head out for chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest with experienced guides. Spend magical moments watching chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, embark on the famous Nyungwe Canopy Walkway, suspended 50 meters above the forest floor for breathtaking views and photo opportunities.

Return to Kigali

After breakfast, go for colobus monkey tracking or a guided forest hike along one of Nyungwe’s scenic trails (like the waterfall trail). Enjoy birdwatching and spot colorful orchids along the way. Return to the lodge for check-out and begin the drive back to Kigali, arriving in the evening.
