Itinerary

Day 1

Kruger

Day 1: Departing from Johannesburg Airport or surrounding hotels at around 08h30 a.m. we drive along a scenic route to the entrance of the Kruger National Park. Here we transfer to a specially designed open safari vehicle. Game viewing begins as soon as we enter the gates, and we look for giraffe, zebra and various antelope species on our way to the camp, where we arrive by sunset. Dinner may be enjoyed in the camp restaurant, or if weather permits your guide may prepare a traditional South African "braai" (barbecue), which is an absolute feast! Fall asleep to the sound of hippos snorting or lions roaring in the distance.

Day 2

Kruger

Day 2: We rise before the sun and embark on a morning game drive in the Kruger National Park in search of the big 5 - lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino. These are known to be the 5 most dangerous animals to hunt, but we get to view them up close from the safety of an open safari vehicle. While looking for wildlife we visit waterholes, lookout points and beautiful picnic spots, stopping at regular intervals so you can stretch your legs and enjoy some refreshments. On some safaris, we visit the waterhole where the famous Battle at Kruger video was filmed. After breakfast at a picnic site in the bush, we may return to the camp around lunchtime, where you can spend the hot midday hours relaxing at the pool, browsing through the curio shop or watching animals from the deck. Alternatively, we can stay out longer or even all day, as our schedule is flexible and we do not limit the duration of our game drives. In the afternoon we head out on another game drive and return to the camp at sunset for dinner. As an optional extra, you can embark on a sunset/night drive on an open safari vehicle equipped with spotlights, conducted by one of the Kruger Park's rangers. Dinner will be enjoyed in the camp restaurant, or may be prepared by your guide under the stars, weather permitting.

Day 3

Kruger

Day 3 This morning we pack up early and head out on a final early morning game drive in search of game that may have eluded us thus far. Breakfast is served at a picnic site along the way, and we exit the Kruger Park around mid morning to begin our journey back to Johannesburg. Transfers to and from Johannesburg are normally conducted in a luxury air-conditioned microbus. We arrive back in Johannesburg by about 17h00 p.m.
