Nyungwe

Upon arrival at Kigali International airport you will be met by our representative that will assist you through customs and immigration. You will drive to the town of Huye (Butare) and proceed on a tour through the ethnographic museum before having lunch at a local restaurant. Further ahead lays the Kings Palace in Nyanza where you will learn and get accustomed to the origin of Rwanda culture and the Royal traits of the kings. Dinner and overnight at Top View Hill Lodge

Nyungwe

At 0430hrs, drive to park HQ for a briefing by trackers on safety, flora, fauna, history, and park rules. At 0500hrs, hike into Nyungwe Forest National Park to find primates. Spend an hour observing Chimpanzees with guide. Then return to base, drive to lodge for lunch, and have the rest of the day free. Dinner and overnight at Top View Hill Lodge.

Lake Kivu

After breakfast, drive north to Rubavu. Enjoy specular views of Lake Kivu and engage in watersports. Take a kayak tour of nearby islands before heading to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. In the early evening in Gisenyi, watch local fishermen in traditional catamarans lit by lanterns as they go out into the lake in groups with accompanying songs. Just before sundown, witness a large colony of bats swarming from the mainland to the lake, creating a spectacular sight.
