Worst agency I have ever dealt with. Everything is presented as “normal,” yet clients from other agencies do not experience these issues. Anything beyond a simple service seems outside their planning capacity and professionalism.

From the beginning, the information given to me was inconsistent or incomplete. Even the hotel booking required for my ETA was sent very late. When immigration asked for proof, the agency sent me a questionable document because the real confirmation wasn’t available.

Humphrey told me everything was already reserved. That was false. The hotel confirmed that no reservation existed under my name, Mofire Adventures, or MOFAT Safari. When confronted, he claimed the woman I spoke to “was not aware,” even though the hotel had clearly confirmed the truth. Days later, I finally received a confirmation, proving he had not done any prior arrangements. His answers about my room requests were also inconsistent and false.

When I reserved my package, Humphrey first gave me the wrong hotel name, making me believe I was close to downtown. When he finally gave me the correct one, I realized it was 20 km away. When I asked for another option, he insisted it was “10 minutes by expressway,” which is false since no one uses it because of the toll. At the hotel, I also discovered there was no A/C. Humphrey claimed there was and said he would “check,” but the hotel confirmed there is no A/C anywhere. He had simply said anything without verifying.

The safari pickup was another example of poor communication. I was told to be ready at 5:45 AM, breakfast at 5:00, and woke up at 4:30. At 4:00 AM he texted saying the driver would come at 6:15 because it was “too early.” The driver arrived at 7:05 and explained the real reason: legal restrictions on early pickups due to hijacking risks and mandatory police stops. Humphrey later claimed this rule was recent, which was false.

If I had been informed correctly, I would have woken up at the right time. The difficulty did not come from information changing — it came from Humphrey saying anything without verifying.

If you pay by credit card, you will be charged an extra 3% to 3.5% without being informed. He promised a discount but never applied it. He gives false information, refuses criticism, makes repeated mistakes, and then apologizes. The company did not care either — always the same scripted excuses.

Tessy Nelly, the freelance driver, was excellent: professional and efficient. But Humphrey often blamed her for his own mistakes.

There was also a serious issue with transport planning. Humphrey told me the drive to the airport was 4 hours, when it is actually 5. Based on his wrong estimate, he scheduled the departure too late, which would have made me miss my flight. Tessy corrected the timing. Humphrey tried to justify himself by saying “it depends who is driving,” which was not accurate.

Between the safari and my stay in Diani, I held back a small amount (200 USD out of nearly 2,900 USD) to negotiate a discount because of repeated mistakes and undisclosed fees. Humphrey then used this as an excuse to justify why he had not paid the remaining balance of the Diani hotel — even though the amount held back was minimal. That’s when I realized he had not paid the last part of the hotel at all.

I had two excursions planned in Diani: one included, and one offered for free. He assured me both were booked. None were. He booked the included one only on day 2 and placed it on day 4 instead of the agreed dates. When I asked to move it to day 3, he said there was no availability. The broker confirmed there was full availability and that Humphrey himself refused to let me join. He also refused to honor the free excursion.

This pattern repeated: pressure for payment, misinformation, no real planning. When confronted, he said I was a “difficult client.” He invented answers, refused to provide the receipt I asked for, and even scheduled an excursion on a day he knew would cause problems.
