I am a Ugandan and I knew Stephen from his childhood! My family-in-law and I booked one week trip to northwestern Uganda Murchison Falls National Park and Cul Tours and Safaris proved to be professional at arranging all aspects of this and were extremely quick in responding to requests for information. They were very helpful in suggesting alternatives to our initial plans. Our driver-guide, Brian, is very knowledgeable, a superb driver and a real pleasure to be with for the whole of the trip.

Thanks to Cul Tours and Safaris and I will recommend them to everyone.

If you go to Uganda or Africa and you do game drive, you get a nice experience and see a lot of animals. You are pleased and you credit your driver or guide - for things that are just there.

But the real great experiences you get from a special driver/ guide who are aware of the small things and makes them big events:

A chameleon crossing the road, crested eagle sitting on the roadside, a dung beetle rolling a ball of elephant dung 250 times its own weight including its wife.
A driver/guide who know the local area, who have friends everywhere and can stop and invite you in to the local community to see a dance or just have a cup of tea.
A driver/guide who is aware that the one sitting on the back seat is in need of water and stops to pass her one, before she asks. Or stops to buy and cut out a pineapple, sugar cane or basket of oranges.

Stephen Bokuma from Cul tours and Safaris has that and gives it to you, the animals will always be there.

I totally made the right choice with Cul Tours & Safaris; a wonderful adventure and experience. I am not a tour guide kind of traveller so I was hesitant to sign on with a tour company, but I am very happy that I used Cul Tours for this trip to Murchison Falls National Park.

Stephen was prompt in all our correspondence and tried always to do what he could to arrange my trip to meet my desires. He arranged for me to see and do every single thing I wanted during my very limited time. I was able to visit a women's collective, walk in the forest to see chimpanzees, hike up Murchison Falls, and ride around the savannah seeing the local wildlife.

Solomon, my guide and driver from Cul Tours, was a safe and courteous driver (to pedestrians and other drivers) which was very important to me. He's a wealth of information about his country, which made the drive-time additionally interesting. He truly seems to enjoy his career as a travel guide. Because Cul Tours & Safaris is a small, locally owned company, I received exceptional service, and my comfort and satisfaction was clearly a priority for them.

Highly recommended, without reservation.

We recently travelled for seven days with Stephen mainly for the Bwindi Gorilla experience but also did several game drives and chimpanzee experience. We saw tree-climbing lions, leopard, buffalo, antelope, gorillas and chimpanzees to name a few. Stephen's company is so professional and he is proud of what Uganda has to offer tourists. His knowledge within the industry ensured we had a trip of a lifetime.

I would recommend Stephen and his company to anyone wanting the full package of game drives along with the primate experience. Awesome...just awesome.

Stephen and his team do great work!
A friend and I have been to Uganda this summer. Someone over there said we had to go with Cul Tours if we would like to go on safari. We contacted Stephen to give some advice. Because we were students we didn't had a very big budget so we asked him to make a special trip which was less expensive. Stephen gave us three different options.
We chose one of them and are still happy we've done that!
Our driver picked us up at the hotel, drove us to the park and gave much information! Everyone we've seen from the organisation was kind and it was nice to go on a trip with these guys for a couple of days!
Next time we want to do a safari we would contact Stephen and hope he ca. Fix something for us!

A GREAT EXPERIENCE!

If you are shopping around for a good tour company, look no further. You will find Stephen Bukoma and his team at Cul Tours to be knowledgeable, professional, and completely trustworthy. Throughout our experience the owner, Stephen, was very efficient with email communications, understanding of our need to keep the budget low but still have an enjoyable experience, and extremely patient with all our questions - even when I asked for proof of his physical office before I sent the deposit!

My niece and I were met at the airport by Stephen (and had our first concern erased of whether the person you've been communicating with online will actually materialize when you arrive!), and introduced to Milton, who was our guide for our 3-night trip to Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth parks. Milton was great: extremely punctual, very knowledgeable about many subjects - wildlife and otherwise - and a lot of fun! He was well-connected with many other guides in and around the parks and they were constantly sharing information about which big animals were where. One evening we were just about to head back to the lodge (Bush Lodge - great place, amazing food!) and Milton stopped to chat with another guide and learned about a lion sighting in the park. So we turned around, went racing back into the park (despite the fact it was about to close) and saw not just one lion but an adult male and female and 6 young ones! We talked to many others back at the lodge who hadn't seen the lions and we may have missed them as well had Milton not taken that extra initiative.

On our final day we had a quest to see some elephants (we happened to have a couple of cool, wet days in QE park so they weren't easy to spot) and again Milton went the extra mile, checking the usual elephant hangouts, asking around the guide network to get some tips. We had a couple of false alarms but just as it was getting late he stopped the truck and pointed through a little clearing in the trees where the elephants were enjoying themselves by the water. Mission accomplished!

Our experience was first-rate from beginning to end. Stephen runs a very professional operation and I can recommend them without hesitation!
