This 6 days Lemosho route is one of the most scenic and less crowded routes to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Known for its stunning panoramic views and diverse landscapes, it offers a challenging yet rewarding experience. It is our preferred route due to its ideal balance of low traffic, beautiful scenery, and a high summit success rate. The route approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the west; the first two days are spent trekking through the rainforest to Shira Ridge, the Lemosho route crosses the entirety of the plain from west to east in a pleasant, relatively flat hike.
The best time to climb Kilimanjaro is during the warmest and driest times of the year, from December, January, February to mid-March and mid-June, July, August, September to the end of October. However, although these are considered to be the best times to climb the mountain in terms of weather, they are also the busiest months.

Depart from Moshi to Londorossi Gate, which takes about 4 hours, where you will complete entry formalities. Then drive to the Lemosho trailhead (another hour to reach the trailhead). Upon arrival at trailhead, you'll eat lunch, then commence through undisturbed forest which winds to the first camp site.
