Safari summary
This 9 days safari package will give you enough time to explore a lot of wildlife parks in Tanzania while staying in lodge accommodations during the whole safari. On this safari you will visit the 4 most popular parks and each destination has its own uniqueness. The tour will start by visiting Tarangire, the famous Serengeti National Park, the amazing Ngorongoro Crater, and beautiful Lake Manyara National Park. This 9-day Serengeti migration safari starts from Arusha and ends in Arusha; the most affordable price is $1800 to $6000 per traveler, depending on transport by Land Cruiser 4x4 vehicles. You will witness the incredible wildlife of Africa, and you will also visit one of the natural wonders of Africa, a UNESCO heritage site.
During this 9 days safari you will visit the legendary Serengeti which is famous for the fact that the population of wildebeest in the Serengeti ecosystem fluctuates throughout the year due to the annual migration. During the peak of the Great Migration, which typically occurs between the months of June and August, it is estimated that there can be around 1.8 to 2.5 million wildebeest in the Serengeti National Park. In Serengeti, you will have a chance to see all kinds of animals, such as giraffes, zebras, elephants, leopards, and lions.
Also on this 9 days you will visit the eighth Natural Wonder of the World, the Ngorongoro Crater, which is the largest intact crater in the world. About 2 million years ago, the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, and its walls collapsed. The volcano floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600m tall walls. Now, at over 19 kilometres wide, Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo-filled swamps and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals—including elephants, warthogs, flamingoes, magnificent birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros and all the predatory cats. The Maasai can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest.
On this 9 days safari will get to see the most beautiful parks including Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park. Lake Manyara is a beautiful little park that is famous for its tree-climbing lions, elephants, and large troops of baboons. The park is home to an amazing variety of birds and animals considering its small size. A short visit to this serene park will greatly diversify your safari experience, as the lush green jungle habitat is in stark contrast to the other parks you will visit during your safari as well as Tarangire national park is almost 3000sq km in size and is probably best known for its huge numbers of elephants and baobab trees. The name of the park comes from the Tarangire River which crosses through the park. Tarangire is especially spectacular during the dry season (June - November) as wildlife concentrations rival that of the Serengeti (since enormous populations of elephants and other animals are drawn to the Tarangire River as their only source of water). With its varied habitats and permanent water in the Tarangire River, the park is home to over 2000 elephants and 500 bird species.
The best time to visit the Serengeti for the wildebeest migration safari is between January and March for calving season, June to July for river crossings, and October to December for the herds' return to the Serengeti plains.
