This safari is a rare opportunity to visit the home of the endangered Mountain Gorillas. In Rwanda, there are 7 Gorilla groups that can be visited by tourist in the Volcano Park. Each group can be visited by a maximum of 8 people per day and the visit lasts only 1 hr.

The trekking can take up to 8 hours and climb to altitudes in excess of 7,500 ft. The terrain is rough and at times muddy. Although the hike is physically demanding, the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery make the trekking worthwhile. Once the gorillas are located all fatigue is forgotten as the experience is often described as being the most profound natural history experience in the world!!

Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1: Kigali, Rwanda Upon arrival into Kigali, you will be met by your guide and taken to your hotel for lunch and then an afternoon city tour of Kigali and visit to the Genocide Museum.

Day 2

Day 2: Volcano Park, Rwanda Early in the morning you will be picked up from your hotel and transported out to Volcano Park for your Gorilla trek. After your trek you will be transported back to your hotel in Kigali.
