Safari summary

Serengeti National Park is home to one of the world’s most incredible natural wonders – the great wildebeest migration. This annual event sees over a million wildebeest, along with thousands of zebras and other grazing animals, travel across the vast plains of the Serengeti in search of fresh grazing lands. In this article, we’ll delve deeper into the wildebeest migration in Serengeti National Park, including its timing, route, and significance to the ecosystem.

The migration typically begins in December, when the herds start moving south from the northern part of the park, where they spend the wet season. By February, they have reached the southern part of the Serengeti, where they give birth to their young. The calving season lasts until March, after which the herds start moving west and north in search of greener pastures.
