Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1: - Kigali: Arrival in Kigali – welcome by your tour guide – check-in at hotel afterwards go for Kigali city tour. Overnight at Golf Hills Residence Hotel

Day 2

Akagera

Day 2: - Ntarama and Nyamata Genocide Memorial and transfer to Akagera National Park: Transfer to Ntarama and Nyamata – visit the genocide memorial and the reconciliation village. Transfer to Akagera National Park for a boat ride on Lake Ihema: Overnight at Akagera Game Lodge

Day 3

Akagera

Day 3: - Akagera National Park: Early breakfast at 5:30am then go for a game drives, bird watching and later enjoy the Pastoralist heritage experience. Overnight at Golf Hills Residence hotel in Kigali.

Day 4

Day 4: – Nyanza, Butare and Nyungwe Forest: Transfer to Butare – visit the Cathedral of Kabgayi and other many historical sites on the route to Nyungwe; visit the ancient King’s palace at Nyanza and National Museum. Visit to the women drumming group at the National University of Rwanda and continue to Nyungwe Forest. Overnight at Gisakura Guest House in Nyungwe Forest.

Day 5

Day 5: - Nyungwe National Park: Nyungwe National Park – Early breakfast at 4:30am then proceed with chimp trekking in the morning and visit tea plantation in the afternoon. Optional: Visit the market. Overnight at Hotel du Lac.

Day 6

Day 6: - Kibuye and Lake Kivu: Transfer to Kibuye; en-route visit Bisesero genocide memorial; Kibuye church and Nyange school where students were massacred after refusing to divide themselves based on ethnic backgrounds. Afternoon, go for a boat tour on lake Kivu to view thousands of bats covering the clouds of Amahoro Island, the Island of Peace. Overnight at Bethane hotel in Kibuye.

Day 7

Day 7: - Gisenyi and Lake Kivu: Transfer to Ruhengeri via Gisenyi – en-route visit the fishing village, hot springs, visit DRC-Rwanda border (Gisenyi town) and relax at the lake side. Continue the drive to Ruhengeri; on arrival check in at hotel Gorillas or St. Anne Hotel.

Day 8

Day 8: - RUHENGERI - PNV: Transfer to the park headquarters: Start preparations for gorilla trekking; visit one of the gorilla families in the park. Some families take approximately 3 hours and others take 5-8 hours; you have the right to choose which group you want to trek; will give you advice on that. Overnight at St. Anne Hotel

Day 9

Mgahinga

Day 9: Transfer to the Uganda via Kisoro; check in at Mgahinga Lodge. Refresh and rest waiting next day’s hiking of Mgahinga volcano.

Day 10

Day 10: Hike Mugahinga Mountain with your parked lunch, returning late in the evening for an overnight at Mugahinga Lodge. FB

Day 11

Day 11: Leave for Lake Bunyoyi N.P near Kabale in the afternoon, have a boat ride on one of the deepest lakes in Africa. Overnight at Over Land Resort, or Bunyoyi Safari Lodge. FB

Day 12

Bwindi Impenetrable

Day 12: Early morning game drive and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable N.P. Overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp. Full Board.

Day 13

Day 13: Early morning breakfast and briefing before entering the thickest Jungles of Bwindi to track gorillas. Overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp. FB

Day 14

Lake Mburo

Day 14: After your breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo N.P via Mbarara on any route. Lunch in Agip Motel and an overnight at Mantana Tented Camp. Full Board.

Day 15

Lake Mburo | Queen Elizabeth

Day 15: Then early morning, have a game drive and in the afternoon, have a boat ride at Lake Mburo then drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 16

Day 16: Early breakfasts then go for an early game drive in search of the lions, elephants etc then enjoy a boat ride on Kazinga Channel in the afternoon. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge. FB

Day 17

Day 17: After your breakfast, proceed to Chambura Gorge Lodge to start enjoy fascinating views and wildlife. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge. FB

Day 18

Kibale

Day 18: Transfer to Kibale Forest N.P en-route Fort Portal town for lunch. Optional: Overnight in Kibale Lodge.

Day 19

Kibale

Day 19: After your early breakfast, briefings from the Park authority then depart through Kibale Forest for Chimpanzee trekking. Proceed to Kasese town, over night at Magharita Hotel.

Day 20

Day 20: Leave Kasese, heading to Rwenzori mountain N.P. Take a short hike on the mountain, then return in the evening to Magharita Hotel for an overnight. FB

Day 21

Day 21: Transfer via Kampala to Budongo Forest with picnic lunch. On arrival, Optional: Take a short nature walk before proceeding to Masidi for an overnight at Masidi Hotel. FB

Day 22

Murchison Falls

Day 22: Depart to Murchison Falls N.P, with any route game drive, an overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.

Day 23

Murchison Falls

Day 23: Early morning game drive along Murchison Falls N.P, Lunch at Paraa Safari Lodge; in the afternoon, a boat trip to the bottom of Murchison Falls. Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge. FB

Day 24

Kidepo Valley

Day 24: Drive to Kidepo Valley N.P. Overnight at Apoka Lodge.

Day 25

Day 25: Have early morning game drive, searching for Wild life, have lunch at Apoka Lodge. Then visit the Karamonjong communities. Overnight at Apoka Lodge. FB
