Fly into Zambia’s capital city of Lusaka before transferring to South Luangwa National Park. Dubbed one of the world’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries, this is the place to see more than 60 animal species and 400 bird species. Look for the Park’s signature leopards, or take a walking safari through the bush to get closer to the wildlife. After your safari, travel to the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls on the border with Zimbabwe. There are several viewing points, but those looking for an adrenaline rush can try swimming in the Devil’s Pool – right on the edge of the 100m high falls. Head to nearby Livingstone for your departure.

Arrive in Lusaka and connect onto a light aircraft flight to Mfuwe. On arrival a driver will meet you and drive you through the small town of Mfuwe to reach your lodge, on the banks of the Luangwa River.

Morning safaris tend to leave just after sunrise, cross the river into the national park with your guide and embark on a three-hour game drive exploring the lagoons and plains in search of a multitude of wildlife such as elephant, zebra, buffalo, giraffe and leopard, and lion too. Return to the lodge for lunch and a dip in the refreshing pool.

This morning you can perhaps try a walking safari. The South Luangwa is well known for its guided walks, which offer a chance to get closer to the smaller animals and learn about their habitats.

This morning, you could enjoy a morning bush walk, followed by an afternoon game drive continuing until after dark to see some of the amazing nocturnal game. Night drives are an excellent time to look for leopard and other predators who use the cover of darkness to hunt their prey.

Today you will be transferred from the camp to the airport for your light aircraft flight to Livingstone via Lusaka. You can stop off at a local craft and textile market on the way to the airport to pick up some hand-made souvenirs. In Livingstone, a driver will meet you for the journey to your next riverside lodge. Head out onto the Zambezi River for a sunset river cruise.

A full day at leisure to explore Victoria Falls and the surrounding areas. There are lots of activities to do in the area, choose from guided nature walks, a tour of the falls, fishing, rhino tracking or a village visit.

The Victoria Falls region is known for its adrenaline activities, take to the skies in a helicopter or microlight for an aerial view of the falls, Zambezi River and Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Alternatively you can walk across Victoria Falls Bridge into Zimbabwe to gain a different perspective of the Zambezi gorges.
