You will be met at the main entry to Gonarezhou, Chipinda Pools when you arrive either by air or road. The safari starts with a game drive into camp - you can then settle in and enjoy this incredible locality.

Each day starts at first light with a hot cup of coffee and breakfast around the camp fire before setting off on our safari day. We can do a combination of walking and game drives to explore the area and sometimes we may make a full day of it with a packed lunch to let us go further afield in this excellent National Park

Today we leave the Chilojo Cliffs area and the camp team will also set off to go and set up a Fly Camp in a private site on the banks of Runde River much further downstream from where we have been. This gives us a whole new area to explore with huge natural pans and beautiful woodland.

The camp itself is a light weight Safari Camp with 3m x 3m Canvas Dome tents - Cot style beds with proper linen - Solar Lighting - the dining area is under a large spreading tree on the banks of the river. The ablutions are a communal shower with pre - heated water and the toilet is not joined to your tent but set aside and a long drop type facility. The camp is basic but has all you need to keep you comfortable and safe for this really genuine safari experience.

We leave camp this morning with a packed lunch so we can give the team time to take down the camp and get reset at our new camp. With no time pressure we will game drive our way to camp stopping for lunch at a strategic lookout place either along the river or from the Chilojo Cliffs before making our way into camp in the afternoon so you have time to get settled in again and get a feel for your new home.

We often start our day here with a morning walk into the surrounding hills and valleys following game trails - it is such a scenic area with and excellent population of resident wildlife that we should have some really nice sightings and then in the afternoon we may just stay at camp and enjoy the comings and goings of the wildlife or do a game drive or walk. We always remain as flexible as possible for any game viewing opportunities.

This camp is unique in that it is built by the local community using traditional methods and artwork. The same ladies that helped build the camp are those that work here. It has very comfortable beds and linen and each room has its own shower and toilet facility with heated water from solar panels as is the lighting and charging facilities. We book these camp on a private basis.
