Day 1: Drive to Kibale National Par

Your safari starts with a drive from Kampala to Kibale National Park, famous as the “primate capital of East Africa” because it has many chimpanzees and over 12 types of monkeys. You pass villages, tea farms, hills, and green forests in western Uganda. After arriving and checking in, you do the Bigodi Swamp Walk, where you see birds, monkeys, butterflies, and learn about local life and plants around the forest.

Today starts with breakfast and a briefing at Kibale National Park, the “primate capital of East Africa” with over 1,500 chimpanzees. You go chimpanzee trekking in the rainforest with a ranger, walking through green forest while spotting monkeys, birds, and butterflies. When you find the chimps, you spend one hour watching them play, feed, and move in trees. In the afternoon, enjoy a banana tour where you learn how bananas are grown and used for food and local drinks.

Today starts after breakfast with a drive from Kibale National Park back to Kampala.
