Safari summary

This itinerary offers you the chance to see some of the best wilderness areas Botswana has to offer. With three nights in each destination you get to explore and relax in each. This gives you the best opportunity for game sightings and ensures you recover from the travel between. The itinerary encompasses the Okavango Delta (Khwai Area), Savuti and the Chobe Waterfront.

Maun- Day One. We collect you from Maun airport on around 1pm, and you overnight near Maun at either the Old Bridge or Thamalakane River Lodge. * Maun offers the chance to see community and village life in Botswana.

Maun to Khwai- Day Two. We drive to Khwai, where we spend 3 nights at the beautiful, isolated and exclusive operators site. In addition to our normal game drives we can do some spotlighting at night, fish in the Khwai River, drive off road and get out of the vehicle at the guide’s discretion. Walking with an armed guide is available as well for an additional cost. A 2 1/2hr mekoro (wooden canoe) trip is available for an extra US$45 payable to the mekoro polers from the Khwai Community.

Khwai to Savuti- Day 5. We drive a few hours north through Chobe National Park to our exclusive campsite. Savuti is Botswana’s premium wild life destination and we will do extensive game drives and explore this amazing area. Some highlights include visiting ancient Kalahari San (Bushmen) paintings and an eery rock island crowded with immense Baobab Tree’s.

Savuti to Chobe- Day 8. We head North to the Chobe River, camping in an exclusive site near the river for another 3 nights. We will drive into Kasane on day two for a 3-hour boat cruise on the beautiful Chobe River. This offers you the chance to get close to hippopotamuses, crocodiles elephants and drink- ing wildlife in a peaceful and safe setting and provides fantastic photo opportunities.

Chobe to Victoria Falls or Livingstone- Day 11. We transfer you to one of the borders at Kazungula for you to go to Livingstone in Zambia or Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe to see one of the Natural Wonders of the World. Alternatively you can fly out of Kasane to end your trip.

* We can extend your trip by arranging your accommodation and sightseeing in Victoria Falls or Livingstone. We have extensive experience with these areas and great partners.
