Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1: On arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda and after finalizing the formalities, you shall be welcomed by your Shoebill Safari guide, who will then drive you to your Hotel Accommodation: Lake Victoria View Guesthouse (B, -,-) or similar midrange Lodge.

Day 2

Day 2: Today you will have morning visit to Mabamba swamp where most of the birding is done by canoeing, as you look out for the rare Shoebill Stork, African Water rail, Allen's and Purple Gallinule, Squacco, Goliath, Purple, Grey Herons, a variety of Egrets, ducks. Later you will have a city tour through Kampala. In the evening you will have an optional visit at Ndere Cultural center (Wed, Fri, Sun) or choose to spend your time at leisure. Day 3

Day 3: After an breakfast you shall have a nature walk to the Sipi falls. These are a series of 3 waterfalls. You shall walk to the falls that are located at the base of Mt Elgon. In the afternoon you will then have a coffee tour. Accommodation: Lacam Lodge (B, -, D) or similar midrange Lodge.

Day 4

Day 5

Day 5: Today you will drive to Kidepo National Park. The Park lies in the rugged, semi-arid valleys between Uganda’s borders with Sudan and Kenya, some 700km from Kampala. Gazetted as a national park in 1962, it has a profusion of big game and hosts over 77 mammal species as well as around 475 bird species. Kidepo is Uganda’s most isolated national park, but the few who make the long journey north agree that it is also the most magnificent, and ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses. Day 6

Day 6: After your breakfast, start your drive through the Narus Valley where you will have a nature walk in the park. In the afternoon, you will enjoy another game drive Kidepo National Park is a savannah landscape that extends in all directions, It is home to elephant, zebra, giraffe, huge herds of buffalo, warthog, duiker, Jackson’s Hartebeest, lion, leopard, cheetah and hundreds of bird species, Buffalos, and Elephants. Other animals that may be seen roaming around include: Jackal Roan Antelope, waterbuck, Eland, Oribi, Klipspringer, and Lions etc. The park boosts of being the highest concentration of birds endemic to Uganda like: Ostrich, Kori bustard, vultures, hornbills, eagles etc Accommodation: Kidepo Savannah Lodge (B, -, D) or similar midrange Lodge.

Day 7

Day 7: After an early morning breakfast, you will go for a cultural tour in the Karamajong community. Here you will spend a wonderful evening with Karamajong people and have an insight of their way of life and beliefs. At the end of the tour you will be able to understand why their pride makes them slow to adapt to globalization. Late afternoon you will have another game drive. This will also enable you to be in full sight of varieties of birds as well. Accommodation: Kidepo Savannah Lodge (B, -, D) or similar midrange Lodge.

Day 8

Murchison Falls

Day 8: After breakfast proceed to the next highlight of your memorable tour Uganda. You will drive to the beautiful north-western Uganda Murchison Falls National Park. Murchison Falls NP covers 3,840-sq km and has recorded 76 mammal species and over 450 bird species. It lies 619m at the delta and 1,292 at Rabongo Hill. Day 9

Day 9: After an early breakfast you will have a boat ride to the Nile delta, keep a look out for a variety of bird species especially the Shoebill. In the afternoon, go for a game drive. Drive in the open African savanna in search for Lions, Leopard, Hyena, Buffalo, Elephant, Jackson Hartebeest. Oribi, Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, and enjoy spotting various Bird species such as the Secretary Bird, Black Chested Snake Eagle, Tawny and Marshal Eagles Carmine and Swallow Tailed Bee-Eaters and many more. Day 10

Day 10: After an early breakfast, you shall proceed for a game drive. This is a beautiful drive across savannah, Borassus Palm Forest and grassland down to Lake Albert where the Albert Nile heads north. In the afternoon go for a boat ride up the Nile, to Murchison falls, whence the park derives its name. Enjoy these spectacular falls with a hike to the top of the falls where the Nile squeezes through a 7 meter gap and at the bottom bask Huge Nile Crocodiles. Day 11

Day 11: After breakfast you proceed to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here you shall have a walking Safari to the Southern White Rhinos that have been re-introduced in Uganda. Later you drive to Entebbe to your hotel. Accommodation: 2Friends Hotel (B, -, -) or similar midrange Lodge.
