Beginning in the Coffee region of Ausha, Tanzania, you will traverse through the National Parks and into the Ngorongoro Crater before air chartering further north into the Serengeti for an authentic tented camp experience. Your Serengti Family Safari will be spent at The African Tulip, Lemala Ngorongoro and Lemala Ewanjan alongside expert wildlife guides and safari experiences including the Lemala Cubs Programme – a fun and educational wildlife programme dedicated to showing future generations the need for conservation. The minimum age for this safari is 6 years and up.

Itinerary

Day 1

Serengeti

Your Serengeti Safari begins on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Your family will be welcomed by a Jumbari Family Safaris representative who will accompany you and your family to The African Tulip – a 90 minute drive into the coffee region of Arusha. Located in the heart of the town, The African Tulip is the perfect rest stop after a long haul flight in preparation of your East Africa safari experience.

Day 2 - 4

After breakfast, you will be met and transferred through Lake Manyara National Park, enjoying a packed lunch and game viewing en route. After lunch, you will continue your game drive into the Karatu region before arriving at the Crater Rim and checking into Lemala Ngorongoro. The lodge is set in an ancient acacia forest close to the rim of the World Heritage Site, the Ngorongoro Crater. Afternoons can be spent with a crater rim walk ending at a traditional Maasai Boma.

Day 3

Lemala guests will have an hour’s head start on the descent into the Crater due to its prime location and exclusive Lemala access road on the eastern side. Your mornings will start as early as 06h15 with a crater descent game drive into the Ngorongoro Crater, arriving on the crater floor, surrounded by wildlife within 10 – 15 minutes. Enjoy a coffee break and a light snack before making your way back for breakfast and afternoon activities.

Day 4

Ngorongoro Crater | Serengeti

After breakfast, your driver will transfer you back through the Lake Manyara region to the Lake Manyara Airstrip for your shared light air charter flight to Seronera Airstrip in the Central Serengeti. On arrival, your family will be met by a representative from Lemala Ewanjan and transferred to your authentic tented experience in the Serengeti.

Day 5

Ngorongoro Crater

Your family will spend time exploring the Serengeti with twice daily game drives through the Serengeti. Lemala Ewanjan has been carefully position right at the end of a blind valley, making your family safari experience uninterrupted during the day and no electric lights in sight come sundown.

Day 6

Ngorongoro Crater

Lemala Ewanjan is an authentic tented camp set in a secluded part of the game-rich Seronera Valley in Central Serengeti. The lodge is comprised of 10 spacious ensuite tents, each offering an outside deck with beautiful views of the Serengeti. Each tent is fitted with two queen sized beds, flush toilets, large safari style shower, running water and 24-hour solar lightening. In addition, there are two 2 bedroom tents that provide the perfect space for families.

Ngorongoro Crater

Today marks the end of your Serengeti Family Safari in Tanzania. After breakfast at Lemala Ewanjan, your family will be transferred back to Seronera Airstrip for your shared light air charter back to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey home.
