Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1: Arrival Diego-Suarez Today you will arrive at Diego Suarez. This is a sea side town, but is separated from the rest of the island by a mountain range. Diego is the third largest port. It is a very pleasant city to discover and we will spend the night here.

Day 2

Day 2: Mer d'Emeraude and Ramena If you have the time, we recommend to plan a day off in Diego Suarez because it is such a pleasant town and there are several possibilities for excursions in and around the city. For these options see the building stone “excursions around Diego Suarez”.

Day 3

Ankarana

Day 3, 4, 5 and 6: Montagne d'Ambre - Ankarana - Ankify After breakfast you will start a four-day tour with three nights of camping or sleeping in simple, small local houses. First, you will visit the national park "Montagne d'Ambre" and after you will head to the Ankarana massif, after paying a visit to the red Tsingy. In the Ankarana massif, you can visit the famous Tsingy rock formations. In the national park you can spot many lemurs, birds and insects, but also enjoy the many small streams and waterfalls. In short, four days of nature and adventure. The final night you will stay in a seaside hotel in Ankify. This excursion is offered on a full board basis and it is possible to stay at a simple camping site, but also staying in a luxury lodge in the Montagne d'Ambre or a simple local home in the Ankarana massif is possible. A combination of both is also optional. For true nature and hiking enthusiasts, there is a possibility to expand this trip with a day or two in both national parks.

Day 7

Day 7: Ankify - Nosy-Be Today, the boat will take you to Nosy-Be where you can either fly back to Antananarivo or rest for a few days more at the beach, or choose a cruise (take a look at the other building blocks).
