Upon landing at JKIA Airport, you will be met by a uniformed Amazing Memories Safaris and Tours representative who will give you a briefing about your safari. He/she will also introduce you to your guide who will take you through the safari. You will then depart to Samburu National Reserve, Mt. Kenya, Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara, Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, Ngorongoro in Tanzania, Amboseli, and finally back to Nairobi where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.

Itinerary

Day 1

Nairobi | Samburu

Day 1: Nairobi - Samburu National Reserve After the meet and great at the airport or at your hotel, you will be off to Samburu Game Reserve. Samburu National Reserve is one of the lesser-known national parks, but is nevertheless teeming with life. Situated alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty of wildlife drawn to the water from the surrounding savannah plains. The reserve is rich in wildlife with an abundance of rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the beisa Oryx (also referred to as Samburu Special Five). The reserve is also populated with more than 900 elephants. Large predators such as the lion, leopard, and cheetah are also an important attraction. You will arrive in time for lunch at Samburu Sopa Lodge. After lunch you will have an evening game drive and later return for dinner in the late evening.

Day 2

Samburu

Day 2: Samburu National Reserve Have an early morning game drive and return to the lodge for breakfast. You can spend the rest of the morning at your leisure or an take an optional visit to Samburu Cultural Village. Return for lunch at the Lodge for coffee or tea. Later on you can take an evening game drive and return in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Mount Kenya | Samburu

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve - Mount Kenya After breakfast you will drive to Mount Kenya region. You will arrive in time for lunch at Sweet Waters Serena Camp. Later in the afternoon you will have a game drive at Sweet Waters Olpajeta Conservancy. OlPejeta Conservancy is East Africa’s Largest Black Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees and a place with one of the highest predator densities in Kenya. Ol-Pejeta boasts an astounding variety of animals including non-indigenous chimpanzees and the big five. The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plaons will guarantee you an unforgettable safari experience. You will later return in the evening for dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 4

Lake Nakuru | Mount Kenya

Day 4: Mount Kenya - Lake Nakuru National Park After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Nakuru. You will arrive in time for lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge and later have an afternoon game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park. The park lies in Central Kenya, 140km north-west of Nairobi, in the Nakuru district of the Rift Valley Province. The ecosystem comprises of the lake, surrounded by mainly wooded and bushy grasslands. The park supports a wide ecological diversity with flamingos (Greater and Lesser) and many other water birds. The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals including the white rhino and buffaloes and a variety of over 450 species of terrestrial birds. You will later drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Lake Nakuru | Masai Mara | Serengeti

Day 5: Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara After breakfast, you will depart for Masai Mara, one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves. Masai Mara is situated in south-west Kenya and is one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves. Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible, and most spectacular Eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing Eco-system. It is globally famous for its exceptional population of lions, leopards, and cheetahs. This park is home to the annual migration of Thomson's gazelle and wildebeest to and from the Serengeti every year from July to October, known as the Great Wildebeest Migration. Arrive in time for lunch at Mara Base Camp Explorer Tented camp. After lunch you will have evening game drives and later return for dinner in the late evening.

Day 6

Masai Mara

Day 6: Masai Mara Have a morning breakfast at the camp and leave with packed lunches for a full day game drive at Masai Mara National Reserve. You will be on the lookout for the big 5 and many other wild animals. You will later return in the evening for dinner and overnight at the same camp.

Day 7

Masai Mara

Day 7: Masai Mara Today you can choose if you would like to partake in a hot air balloon ride. If you choose the morning balloon ride, you would begin the day at the lodge and wait to be picked up and transferred to the balloon launch site. Here you will meet your pilot, receive a briefing, and watch the inflation of your balloon. The actual ride starts at 6am. The pilot controls the altitude of your balloon; sometimes you will be flying at treetop height, sometimes lower, offering a unique perspective and great photographic opportunities of the wildlife that is below. Later you will drive back to the lodge for breakfast and game drives later on. Alternatively you could begin the day with a morning game drive and return for breakfast before going out again for an mid-morning drive. You will return again for lunch and then spend the rest of the afternoon at your leisure, maybe swimming or relaxing at the pool You will go out on more game drives n the evening and have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 8

Masai Mara | Serengeti

Day 8: Masai Mara - Serengeti National Park Have breakfast at the camp and then depart with packed lunches to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. After Visa formalities at the Isebania border, you will proceed to the park. Serengeti National Park is Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park, also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th world wide wonder. The Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson's gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. You will arrive in the evening at Serengeti Sopa Lodge with game drives en route. You will later have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 9

Serengeti

Day 9: Serengeti National Park After breakfast at the lodge, you will depart with packed lunches for a whole day game drive at the park for a chance to see the big five and even many more animals. You will later return for dinner and overnight at the lodge. Alternatively you could break up the game drives by returning to the lodge for breakfast and lunch and then remaining at the lodge to relax all afternoon. With this option you would head out before dinner for another drive.

Day 10

Serengeti

Day 10: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Have breakfast and then drive to Ngorongoro National Park. You will arrive in time for lunch with game drive en route at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. You will then leave the lodge for a half day Crater Tour. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area as a whole has much to offer but the most amazing part is without a doubt, the eponymous crater, an area of 265 sq km, which is 610 meters deep and 19 km across. The rim of the crater is an astounding 2286 meters above sea level. The floor contains a small soda lake, called Lake Magadi and it is estimated that 30 000 animals are living in the crater, making it the most intensive safari game viewing area on earth. It was therefore very fittingly declared a World Heritage Site in 1978. A visit to Tanzania is simply incomplete without a safari visit to the park. Later you will drive back for dinner and overnight.

Day 11

Amboseli | Kilimanjaro

Day 11: Ngorongoro - Amboseli Have breakfast and then drive to Amboseli National Park via the Namanga Border. After visa formalities at The Namanga border, you will proceed to Amboseli National Park. The ecosystem here is mainly savannah grassland spread across the Kenya-Tanzania border. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants among other wildlife species. Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet the Maasai and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro. You will drive to Amboseli AA Lodge for lunch with game drive en-route. Go for an afternoon game drive at 4pm and later drive to the lodge in the evening for dinner.

Day 12

Amboseli | Nairobi

Day 12: Amboseli - Nairobi After breakfast you will drive back to Nairobi where you will spend the day at leisure with optional activities depending on your flight schedule. Later we will transfer you to the airport or hotel.
