Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1 On arrival you will be met at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and transferred to Sun City. Once you have checked in, the rest of the day will be at your leisure. Be sure to make a dinner reservation before it gets too late Overnight at The Cabanas Hotel with breakfast included.

Day 2

Day 2 Today is at leisure in and around Sun City. There's no lack of inspiration for things to do here, from the casinos to golf, the Valley of Waves, water sports, quad biking, zipline, and more. Note that these activities are not included, but optional extras. Overnight at The Cabanas Hotel, with breakfast included.

Day 3

Madikwe

Day 3 After a leisurely breakfast you’ll be driven to the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, one of South Africa's largest game reserves with 60 000 hectares of space. Check in to your lodge and relax before joining the late afternoon/early evening game drive to try to spot the Big Five. You also have a good chance of seeing wild dog and other species. Overnight at Thakadu River Camp, with your meals and game drives included.

Day 4

Madikwe

Day 4 Madikwe has a rich diversity of vegetation, from vast plains of open grasslands to woodlands, and is an ideal malaria-free Big Five game viewing safari experience for the whole family. Spend your first full day in Madikwe enjoying morning and afternoon game drives, with an optional night game drive in the evening. Overnight at Thakadu River Camp, with your meals and activities included.

Day 5

Madikwe

Day 5 On your final day at Thakadu you'll want to concentrate on finding the species you haven't seen yet. Use the early morning and late afternoon drives to search for big cats and look out for Africa's most effective impala killer, the wild dog, which is regularly seen at Madikwe. Enjoy lunch at the lodge with a little siesta before the late afternoon game drive. Overnight at Thakadu River Camp, with your meals and activities included.

Day 6

Madikwe

Day 6 After breakfast, you'll be taken to the airstrip for your scheduled seat-in-charter flight (included) back to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, from where you can connect with your flight home. **END OF JOURNEY** Please take note: There are certain dates where a minimum of 3 night stay is required at Sun City. We'll send you the correct costing, based on your requested dates. This package can be amended to more luxury accommodation at Sun City, and in Madikwe Game Reserve.
