Rising: 5,500 ft / 1,700 m to 9,000 ft / 2,740 m | Distance: 7 km | Hiking time: 4–5 hours | Habitat: Montane forest. After registration at Marangu Gate, begin walking through forest toward Mandara Hut. Look for forest birds and changing vegetation along the trail. Meals: Lunch and dinner.

Pickup is planned for around 7:00–8:00 am, with the exact time confirmed beforehand. The drive to Tarangire takes approximately two hours (109 km).
