1. Where is Serval Wildlife Sanctuary?

Serval Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Siha District of Kilimanjaro. The roads are accessible by different types of vehicles, making it easy to reach the sanctuary. It is about a 35-minute drive from Kilimanjaro International Airport, around 60 minutes from Moshi and approximately 90 minutes from Arusha. This makes it possible to include an overnight stay before or after a safari or Kilimanjaro trip.

2. What is the overnight experience like?

The main idea is simple: you stay inside the sanctuary and enjoy wildlife experiences during your visit. Instead of visiting only for a few hours, an overnight stay gives you more time to relax, enjoy the surroundings and take part in the available activities. You can also enjoy the peaceful atmosphere after the daytime visitors have left.

3. What type of room is available?

The standard villa is designed for families and can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children below 8 years. The villa has a king-size bed that can accommodate 2 adults and 2 young children sharing the bed. If an adult does not want to share the king-size bed with the children, an extra bed may be available at an additional cost, subject to the property's conditions.

4. What is included in the stay?

The accommodation rate includes breakfast and water in the room. The experience also includes access to the sanctuary's activities, where guests can get close to selected animals for photography and, where permitted, feeding or petting experiences using food provided by the sanctuary. Activities can include a sunset experience on the mat, bush or gazebo breakfast, bush or gazebo lunch with animals nearby, and walking with lions, depending on the activity schedule and animal conditions.

5. Can you see animals from the villa?

One of the special parts of staying at Serval is being close to wildlife. Depending on the villa and the animals' movement, guests may have opportunities to see animals from the villa area or balcony. Wildlife is not always in exactly the same place, so animal encounters cannot be guaranteed at a particular time. The experience is about enjoying animals in a natural and carefully managed setting.

Serval Wildlife Sanctuary is home to different animals, including zebras, giraffes, oryx, kudu and wildebeest. The animals you see during your stay can depend on their location, daily activities and the sanctuary's schedule. The experience is different from a traditional national park safari because some activities allow guests to have a closer and more guided experience with selected animals.
