On this intense safari, you will take three days in which to discover some of Tanzania’s northern ‘gems.’ Tarangire will be your first stop after leaving Moshi, a huge, diverse park with large herd of elephants and iconic baobab trees. Next up comes Lake Manyara National Park with its varied landscapes and colorful birdlife, before you continue to the famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area with its incomparable crater. Wildlife and birdlife abound in all of these places…but the incredible settings are also awe-inspiring in themselves.

Tarangire National Park
Tarangire
After breakfast, depart from Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and diverse wildlife. Enjoy a full-day game drive where you may spot elephants, lions, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, gazelles, and various bird species. In the late afternoon, continue to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, descend more than 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. The crater is home to an exceptional concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, and possibly rhinos. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater before continuing your wildlife exploration. Later, ascend from the crater and return to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, beautifully located beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Enjoy a game drive through the park’s diverse landscapes, looking out for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, monkeys, flamingos, and tree-climbing lions. After lunch, begin your journey back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or evening, marking the end of your safari.
