Safari summary
This 4-day safari delivers the very best of northern Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife landscapes. Begin in the legendary Serengeti National Park, renowned for its endless grassland plains in the southeast, hilly and rocky northern country, and forested river valleys to the west. The land feels like untamed wilderness, and all the major safari animals occur in extraordinary numbers, with the Serengeti ecosystem supporting the greatest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa.
From the Seronera River and its kopje-strewn central plains, you’ll head south into the famed Ndutu region, part of the route for the annual migration of more than two million wildebeest and thousands of zebra, antelope and gazelle. Between December and April these fertile plains transform into a vast calving ground, drawing predators in dramatic numbers. The journey culminates with a half-day descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, locally known as the “Garden of Animals”, where the Big Five can be seen in a single day.
