Your Tanzanian adventure begins at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where your Wildflip Safaris guide will warmly welcome you and transfer you to Heart of Africa Lodge in Arusha. After lunch and settling in, enjoy an afternoon excursion to the beautiful Napuru Waterfalls. Walk through lush vegetation, discover the refreshing falls and enjoy a peaceful introduction to Tanzania’s natural beauty. Return to the lodge for dinner and an early night before your safari adventure begins.

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park for a full day of game drives beneath the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpment. Explore the park’s groundwater forests and alkaline lake, home to elephants, hippos, flamingos and abundant birdlife. Keep watch for the park’s famous tree-climbing lions resting in the acacia trees, as well as colobus monkeys and other wildlife. Enjoy the scenic landscapes before continuing to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, travel to remote Lake Eyasi, home to the Hadza and Datooga communities. Meet the Hadza and discover their traditional hunter-gatherer lifestyle, learning about their bush skills, tracking and handcrafted bows. Then visit the Datooga, renowned for cattle keeping and traditional craftsmanship. This immersive cultural experience offers a rare glimpse into Tanzania’s indigenous heritage and ways of life that have been preserved for generations.

Today, journey to the spectacular Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Pause at the crater rim for breathtaking views before descending 600 metres into the ancient caldera. Enjoy a game drive among wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, hippos, elephants and, with luck, black rhino, alongside lions, hyenas and cheetahs. After a picnic lunch on the crater floor, continue through the highlands towards Serengeti National Park for your overnight stay.

Spend your first full day exploring the legendary Seronera Valley, the heart of the central Serengeti and a year-round wildlife haven. Choose an early morning drive to witness the golden sunrise or a relaxed morning departure. Follow the Seronera River, home to abundant wildlife and prime leopard habitat. Watch for leopards in acacia trees, cheetahs on open plains and lions resting nearby, alongside vast herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelles.

After breakfast, travel north through the Serengeti to Kogatende and the spectacular Mara River, with wildlife viewing along the way. The landscape changes from open plains to rolling hills, kopjes and riverine forests, home to zebra, buffalo, giraffe, eland, leopard and lion. During the July–October migration season, witness dramatic wildebeest and zebra river crossings as they navigate the crocodile-filled waters. Enjoy dinner and overnight at a migration camp beneath the stars.

After an early breakfast, drive through the dramatic Rift Valley landscapes towards Lake Natron, with Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai rising on the horizon. This shallow, highly alkaline lake is famous for its striking red and orange hues and abundant birdlife. Enjoy a guided walk along the lake shores with a Maasai guide, searching for lesser flamingos and other birds. During breeding season, millions of flamingos may gather here. Return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.

After breakfast, head to Tarangire National Park for a morning game drive through its iconic baobab-studded landscapes and golden savannah.
