Experience two of Tanzania’s greatest attractions in one unforgettable journey: the Great Migration of the Serengeti and the tropical beaches of Zanzibar.
Designed especially for the July to October migration season, this private safari takes you from Tarangire National Park into the heart of the Serengeti before continuing north towards the Mara River region, where vast herds of wildebeest and zebras gather during their seasonal migration.
Spend rewarding days exploring both Central and Northern Serengeti, searching for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants and other wildlife. During the migration season, you may also have opportunities to witness huge wildebeest herds and, with luck and the right timing, dramatic Mara River crossings.
Continue to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater before flying to Zanzibar for white-sand beaches, Swahili culture and relaxing days beside the Indian Ocean.
This journey combines migration adventure, classic Big Five safari and tropical island relaxation in one complete Tanzania experience.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Arusha to Tarangire
Depart Arusha after breakfast and travel to Tarangire National Park for your first game drive. Explore landscapes dominated by ancient baobab trees and the Tarangire River while searching for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, lions and numerous bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch and continue game viewing before heading to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 – Into Central Serengeti
After breakfast, travel through the beautiful Ngorongoro highlands towards Serengeti National Park. Enter the Serengeti and begin exploring its famous plains as you travel towards the central Seronera region. Look for lions, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, leopards and other wildlife before arriving at your camp.

Day 3 – Central Serengeti Safari
Spend the day exploring Central Serengeti, one of the park’s most productive wildlife areas. The Seronera region offers excellent year-round opportunities to encounter big cats and other wildlife. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives with your private guide before returning to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – Journey North
After breakfast, leave Central Serengeti and travel towards Northern Serengeti. Enjoy game viewing throughout the journey as the landscape changes towards the remote northern plains. During the migration season, your guide will search for wildebeest and zebra herds moving through the region towards the Mara River.

Day 5 – Great Migration Safari
Serengeti
Spend a full day exploring Northern Serengeti and the wider Mara River region. From July through October, large herds of wildebeest and zebras can be found across this ecosystem as they follow fresh grazing and water. Your guide will use current wildlife information to select the most rewarding game-viewing areas. River crossings are natural events and cannot be guaranteed, but being in this region provides an opportunity to witness one if conditions and herd movements align.

Day 6 – Northern Serengeti Adventur
Enjoy another full day dedicated to wildlife and migration viewing. Having an additional day in Northern Serengeti increases your opportunities to locate migrating herds while also allowing time to search for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes and other resident wildlife. An optional hot-air balloon safari can be arranged at additional cost.

Day 7 – Serengeti to Ngorongoro
After breakfast, begin travelling south through the Serengeti. Enjoy wildlife viewing along the journey before continuing towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at your accommodation later in the day for dinner and a relaxing evening.

Day 8 – Ngorongoro Crater Safari
After an early breakfast, descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. Explore the crater floor in search of lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas and the rare black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by spectacular scenery before ascending from the crater later in the afternoon.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, meet your local representative and transfer to your hotel. Spend the remainder of the day relaxing and enjoying the tropical atmosphere after your safari adventure.

Day 10 – Stone Town & Spice Tour
Discover Zanzibar’s fascinating heritage with a guided tour of historic Stone Town. Explore narrow streets, traditional architecture and colourful markets before visiting a spice farm to learn about Zanzibar’s famous tropical spices and fruits. Later, transfer to your beach accommodation.

Day 11 – Zanzibar Beach Escape
Enjoy a relaxing day beside the Indian Ocean. Swim in turquoise waters, walk along the white-sand beach or simply enjoy the facilities at your hotel. Optional snorkeling, diving and other marine activities can be arranged.

Day 12 – Zanzibar at Leisure
Spend another full day enjoying Zanzibar at your own pace. Relax on the beach or choose an optional island experience such as snorkeling, a dhow cruise or another cultural or marine excursion.
