Safari summary
The Marangu Route is the oldest and one of the most popular routes for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Often called the Coca-Cola Route, it is the only route that offers overnight stays in comfortable mountain huts instead of tents. The trail passes through lush rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and finally reaches the snow-capped summit at Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). Suitable for both first-time and experienced trekkers, the Marangu Route is known for its gradual ascent and well-maintained paths. While the 5-day itinerary is a popular option, many hikers choose a 6-day trek to improve acclimatization and increase their chances of reaching the summit. With experienced guides, proper preparation, and the right pace, the Marangu Route offers an unforgettable Mount Kilimanjaro trekking experience to the roof of Africa.
