Set in the west of the Great African rift valley, and bordered by the Rwenzori Mountains (the legendary mist-capped ‘Mountains of the male lion on rock).
Queen Elizabeth incorporates dozens of mirror surfaced crater-lakes, salty and fresh water lakes. There are over 95 mammal including 10 primate species (chimpanzees, vervet, blue, red-tailed, L’Hoest monkey, colobus, baboons), up to 20 predators (lion, leopard, spotted hyena, etc), antelopes, buffaloes, hippos, elephants. More than 610 bird species (probably the highest total for any national park in Africa, if not the world.)
Uganda kobs which are all commonly seen in the tourist villages on the magnificent Mweya Peninsula which prides in a beautiful waterfront locale within the shadows of Mountain Rwenzori.
However, the isolated Ishasha Sector is prominent for the resident tree-climbing lions, the Maramagambo forest is habitat to an attractive diversity of monkeys plus birds, the crater lakes hold thousands of the beautiful pink flamingoes, while the Kyambura Gorges is habitat to habituated Chimpanzees.

Kampala- Queen Elizabeth NP

Depart Kampala in the morning after breakfast and go through Uganda's beautiful green countryside. Watch out for the Equator en-route as well as plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits. Proceed to the Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving in time for lunch. After lunch proceed for an evening game drive where you will also see the crater Lakes. Overnight at your lodge

After an early Breakfast we'll go for a morning game drive in the Park. Expect to see the famous Big Five; Elephant, Buffalos, Lions, Bush bucks, Kobs, Giant forest hog, Hyenas and Waterbucks. In the afternoon we'll take a launch cruise along the amazing Kazinga channel and you will appreciate the scores of Hippos, Buffalos, and Crocodiles close to the waterside as well as the rare Leopard prowling. There is a variety of bird species especially the famous Shoebill, pelican and Jacana.

After breakfast, you can either proceed to Kyambura Gorge for Chimp tracking or visit the bat cave or the blue lake, later drive back to Kampala arriving early evening. Accommodation facilities vary including up market accommodation, medium range accommodation and Low budget accommodation.
